This car has taken me 150,000 miles without a hitch. It has all the style and reliability that people expect from a Jeep. If you're looking for a stylish vehicle that will last you over a decade, then this Jeep can't be beaten. If gas mileage or speed is your thing, then maybe you should look elsewhere.
Story
Because of the cargo space and ability top handle rougher terrain, my Jeep was the go to car for camping trips. My friends and I have many memories of driving to the lake and sitting around a fire while we played music from my car.
Pros
The vehicle can handle rugged terrain, and it has never had any significant mechanical issues. It handles well, and the interior is very spacious. I also like the well known and unique Jeep design. I enjoy the height, as I prefer sitting high rather than down low in a sedan. The size also provides a feeling of security that isn't offered by many sedans. The built in stereo system was also pretty impressive.
Cons
The gas mileage is not very impressive. The Jeep also isn't for people who like quick acceleration and tight maneuvering. You definitely notice that you're driving an SUV and not a sporty sedan. The design of the Jeep also means it has an increased chance to rollover in the case of an accident. Although they were not significant problems, there have been small issues in the interior. The seats are easily stained, the door handles were broken by people yanking on them too hard, and the plastic covering over the gear shift broke inexplicably.

My Jeep Grand Cherokee is still going strong with almost 300,000 miles. I love that it is reliable and dependable. I purchased it used, and it was a very economical choice. I know that during snowy, icy weather, I can depend on it to get me around town due to its four-wheel drive capabilities. My friends often call upon me to help them with moving or transporting large or heavy items, and it feels good to be able being my Jeep to help. My Jeep isn't just a workhorse though, it's also a very comfortable ride for me and my family, and I especially enjoy that it has a sun roof.
Story
Going camping with my husband is always a joy when we can take our Jeep and spend time together in nature.
Pros
I love that my Jeep is four-wheel drive and capable of safely navigating snowy conditions. It is very spacious and excellent for hauling cargo or people. I've also used it to tow a car before because the engine is very powerful, and it was able to safely tow a Toyota Camry approximately 50 miles. I enjoy the status of being a Jeep owner because it often feels like being part of a brotherhood of other Jeep owners. I love the "Jeep Culture" of rugged outdoors living and the associated themes of self reliance and self sufficiency that comes with owning a Jeep.
Cons
Tires are very expensive for my Jeep. When I buy tires, it's about $600, and I have to buy a full-sized spare. My Jeep doesn't get very good gas mileage compared with small, fuel efficient cars. Because my Jeep is getting older, I know it leaks coolant, and I worry about the environmental impact I'm causing. Also, because it is larger than a typical family sedan, getting in and out of parking spaces is sometimes difficult. An unexpected negative aspect is just how many people own vehicles that look very similar: I've often tried to open the door of a Jeep that's not mine! Talk about embarr... (more)
