The best thing about the 2014 Jeep Grand Cherokee are its IIHS Top Safety ratings. The vehicle's safety ratings are what made us want to purchase this small SUV after the birth of our daughter. We intended it to be a family vehicle, which is its main use. However, our friends tend to want to use it for girls and guys nights out as well. We all love the great features of the Jeep. The pros outweigh the cons ten-fold. The performance is stellar. We have had one mechanical issue that was covered under warranty and two recalls, also covered, of course. Other than that, the truck runs really well and it is very quiet. The cons mostly stem from when the features, such as voice texting and remote start, do not work. I often say that this SUV has really spoiled me and I prefer to drive it over... (more)
Story
This vehicle really came in handy on a hot, Southern day when pools were on sale. We impulsively purchased a large blowup pool for the backyard and it just barely fit into the trunk, the box was so large. We still laugh about this impulse buy.
Pros
The 2014 Jeep Grand Cherokee was a 2014 IIHS Top Safety Pick. It has many great features, including a back-up camera, built in navigation, XM radio capabilities, voice-command texting and calling, and TravelLink, which helps you find the cheapest gas prices near you. All of these features are viewed/displayed on the large, in dash touchscreen. The SUV has good gas mileage. If I am simply commuting to and from work, I only have to purchase gas every two weeks. The feature that is most convenient for me with an infant, though, is the fact that the Jeep does not allow me to lock the keys in t... (more)
Cons
One con about the vehicle is definitely the price tag. It is one of the most expensive vehicles in the Jeep line-up. As far as mechanical issues are concerned, there have been two different recalls in the past year. The check engine light has come on once since we've had the vehicle, which turned out to be a switch that needed to be replaced (covered under warranty). During this time I also discovered that the remote start does not work when the check engine light is on. Occasionally, the Jeep also jerks when you make a sharp left, like to park in a parking spot. The dealership did not fin... (more)

The Jeep Grand Cherokee is an excellent vehicle. At first, I was put off with how they changed the design from the original Cherokee, but once I got to see one in person, it really blew me away. The updated look really makes it a vehicle that stands out from similar silhouettes on the road and is a car that can seamlessly move from the street to off-road without a hitch. I have personally influenced three people into getting a Jeep Grand Cherokee, and all three of them love it. My parents are in the market for a new car and have test-driven two different Jeep Grand Cherokees with their final purchase on the horizon.
Story
When we get snow, I go out to parking lots and with the four-wheel drive I'm able to do some serious donuts. It's fun to be able to be a little out of control while knowing you have the ability to be in control in a moments notice with the traction control.
Pros
The best thing about this car is the ride. I have had a great experience with how comfortable this car does on bumpy roads as well as off-road. The interior might be my most favorite part of the car as it is really at the top of it's class. The screen is huge and has may great integrations, including traffic and weather which has helped me out incredibly. I really enjoy the dual seat warmers/coolers as well as the back-up camera. The seats are comfortable and seem to hold up well to lots of activity as I bring my dog in the back seat quite often. The trunk is large, and the automatic lift ... (more)
Cons
The only negative thing that I could say about the Jeep Grand Cherokee is the size. Partly because I'm a big guy, I feel like it's just not tall enough. The sun roof shade rubs up against my head, even when I have the seat all the way down. Also I'm not a huge fan of the gear shifter. When I change gears, I want to physically move the shifter and feel like it has to move a good distance versus the very miniscule amount of distance. It's just a weird thing that takes a while to get used to.
