The best thing about the 2014 Jeep Grand Cherokee are its IIHS Top Safety ratings. The vehicle's safety ratings are what made us want to purchase this small SUV after the birth of our daughter. We intended it to be a family vehicle, which is its main use. However, our friends tend to want to use it for girls and guys nights out as well. We all love the great features of the Jeep. The pros outweigh the cons ten-fold. The performance is stellar. We have had one mechanical issue that was covered under warranty and two recalls, also covered, of course. Other than that, the truck runs really well and it is very quiet. The cons mostly stem from when the features, such as voice texting and remote start, do not work. I often say that this SUV has really spoiled me and I prefer to drive it over... (more)

This vehicle really came in handy on a hot, Southern day when pools were on sale. We impulsively purchased a large blowup pool for the backyard and it just barely fit into the trunk, the box was so large. We still laugh about this impulse buy.
Pros
The 2014 Jeep Grand Cherokee was a 2014 IIHS Top Safety Pick. It has many great features, including a back-up camera, built in navigation, XM radio capabilities, voice-command texting and calling, and TravelLink, which helps you find the cheapest gas prices near you. All of these features are viewed/displayed on the large, in dash touchscreen. The SUV has good gas mileage. If I am simply commuting to and from work, I only have to purchase gas every two weeks. The feature that is most convenient for me with an infant, though, is the fact that the Jeep does not allow me to lock the keys in t... (more)
Cons
One con about the vehicle is definitely the price tag. It is one of the most expensive vehicles in the Jeep line-up. As far as mechanical issues are concerned, there have been two different recalls in the past year. The check engine light has come on once since we've had the vehicle, which turned out to be a switch that needed to be replaced (covered under warranty). During this time I also discovered that the remote start does not work when the check engine light is on. Occasionally, the Jeep also jerks when you make a sharp left, like to park in a parking spot. The dealership did not fin... (more)

The Jeep Grand Cherokee Summit edition is an awesome car with many luxury features that will appeal to anyone looking to buy a high quality automobile. The vehicle has been exceptionally reliable with no mechanical issues. The exterior has upgraded metallic paint and chrome. The headlights are LED and automatically sense when to use high beams or low beams. The windshield wipers are also automatic with rain sensors that adjust the speed of the wiper. The interior is upgraded with leather seats and dash. There is attractive wood trim that complements the look of the interior. The seats are very comfortable. The performance of the car is excellent with an eight-speed transmission and V8 engine. The vehicle is very practical for towing and around town driving. The fuel economy i... (more)

I took my car and travel trailer to Myrtle Beach for Thanksgiving. It was the first time I towed my trailer with my car, and we had a lot of fun. We drove through back streets and small towns and really enjoyed seeing the sights and new things.
Pros
The top positive things about this vehicle are the look of the exterior, the luxury of the interior, and the towing capabilities. My favorite feature is being able to travel comfortably while my car tows my travel trailer.
Cons
The top negative thing about the vehicle is the GPS unit that is built into the car. It is not always accurate and can route me to places using some very indirect routes.

The Jeep Grand Cherokee Overland came standard with all the upgrades I was looking for when transitioning to an SUV. Jeep was the only brand we were considering but still had to decide between the Cherokee and the Grand Cherokee. We ultimately chose the Grand Cherokee because of the available options. The size played a big role and I felt that it did not seem excessively large or overbearing while driving. The upgrades included heated seats in front and back and cooling seats in front. I love the heated steering wheel in the winter, it helps more than you'd think. Having the remote start is awesome as well. Nothing beats having a warm car with warm seats waiting for you on a cold morning. The quality of the Grand Cherokee is great. We have had the vehicle for just over two years and h... (more)

We had a blast taking the SUV out in freshly fallen snow and drifting a bit making donuts.
Pros
The pros of this vehicle are all the options that come standard with the Overland. The heated/cooled seats, full front and back sunroof, back up camera, leather seats. Everything I wanted was already included. The color and overall body of the Grand Cherokee is wonderful.
Cons
For an SUV in this day in age, I feel that the gas mileage could be a little bit better and more efficient. There is a large tank so it doesn't feel like you are filling up all that often, but it should also get you a little further than it does. Another con is that Jeeps tend not to have great resale value.
