My 1999 Jeep Grand Cherokee Limited was bought in Virginia Beach, Virginia in December of 2014. It was bought for the main purpose of being able to tow a small U-Haul trailer to California. During our travels, the check engine light did come on, but we chalk that up to a bad o2 sensor. Another discovery on our trip was that the rear left tire had a plug in it, which surprisingly held up the whole trip without having to swap it out for the spare tire. The amount of room in the backseat with the seats laid flat was more than enough for my two medium-size dogs to fit comfortably, with there still being extra space for a cooler and a few bags. This Jeep also has a sunroof, which I find to be very nice during the summer months. I’ve done well on keeping my fluids clean, and it runs beautifu... (more)
Story
This vehicle is perfect for off roading. My friends and I have taken it out many a times to go shooting or just to drive around. I remember a friend of mine standing up and sticking his head out of the sun roof while it was snowing.
Pros
My favorite feature about this vehicle is that it is 4WD all the time. Somehow this makes me feel safer. Leather seats are also a plus, since I have a small child. Heated front seats are very nice to have during the very cold winters we get here in Northern California. The ten-disk CD changer in the trunk in very cool, and it has built-in steering wheel controls for the radio.
Cons
Installing a car seat in the middle seat is very difficult, as it doesn’t want to sit straight. It wants to lean into the crease of where the seats divide to fold down. It’s nearly impossible to vacuum dog hair out of the trunk area once it’s all over the cloth-type areas.

This vehicle has what you want and need with every trim. I bought the Laredo 75th anniversary edition and have not been disappointed. The gas mileage has been respectable for a 4x4 SUV as I am averaging around 22MPG. The cabin is quiet and the ride seems smooth. The 75th Anniversary edition offers a chance to get some Limited trim features on a Laredo body and it offers unique exterior styling as well. Chrome is replaced with bronze colors on the exterior. Also, for the families, three across in the back seat is very possible when it comes to car seats. Only downfalls thus far are the A/C doesn't seem to get as cold as it should and the feature which turns the engine off when stopped sometimes lags when turning back on. Don't let that stop you, though, because this vehicle is awesome.
Story
Coming from the Jeep Patriot, my first drive was exhilarating. This Jeep drives so much better than the Patriot and I felt like a grown up.
Pros
This vehicle is capable, rain shine or snow. You can use it as an everyday vehicle or go to the mountains and have some fun. Jeep has come a long way with their gas mileage and their performance has not taken a hit. You can also select between Eco, normal, or Sport mode if you wish. The interior is spacious and there is plenty of cargo room in the back. The U-Connect 8.4 with SiriusXM is easy to use and also lets you pause and rewind while listening to SXM. Overall, there's a lot to love.
Cons
There isn't much to hate but first, the engine cutoff feature when stopped does seem to lag at times when you attempt to accelerate again. You can get around this as the feature only seems to enable when you fully press the brake pedal. Also, the feature can be turned off altogether if desired. The A/C isn't as cold as I would like. I also felt it took a while to find the optimal seat and steering wheel position, and I am not sure I love how the lumbar support feels.
