2011 Kia Sorento - Not a great vehicle
When I was first looking to buy a car, I really liked how the Kia Sorento looks. I still really like the look of the car. I love how spacious the car is, and I can fit a ton in the trunk. I have owned the car four years, and the exterior still looks almost brand new. I do not have any rust on the car even though it's a 2011. This is a great car if you need to constantly transport a lot of materials or have children. I was able to fit many boxes in the car when I was moving. Fuel economy is definitely not great. I get maybe 25mpg on the highway and probably not even 20mpg in the city. I drive a lot, and I have to refill my tank every three days or so, which isn't cheap right now with the current gas prices. This car is also not very reliable. I would call it a clunker. I have had it for... (more)
Story
I used this vehicle to go on a road trip to Virginia with my sister for her bachelorette party. It was so much fun. We took a bunch of pictures while in the car that I still have and cherish.
Pros
My favorite feature of this car is the trunk space. The trunk is very large. I am a book seller and am constantly buying inventory. I am able to fit a ton of books in the trunk. I also just love the look of the car. The exterior still looks almost brand new.
Cons
Top negative about this vehicle is the reliability. I have had the car only four years, and so many things need to be repaired. My biggest complaint are the lock actuators going out. I've never had an issue with the locks on any other car before.
2012 Kia Sorento - Nice small family car
Prior to purchasing the vehicle brand new, the dealership already activated the free 3 month Sirius trial, leaving my family with a short time frame to enjoy it. Within the first year, one of the directional air flow vent buttons popped off which I was not crazy about and was not covered under warranty. Overall it's a good, reliable family vehicle.
Story
We did live on the bottom of a hill and loved the downhill assist button. The vehicle would brake before the driver would or could realize we were sliding in the snow or ice.
Pros
Safe vehicle, lots of airbags and safety features. We love the optional back up camera feature. We have never had any serious issues with the engine in the four years we have owned the vehicle.
Cons
The third row is only available by folding down a second row seat which makes it difficult to access if you have two car seats already installed in the second row. There is no way to access the third row without taking out one of the car seats in the second row or by going through the trunk.
