2012 Kia Sportage - Great car for the year

I bought this car in 2016 and have had no real issues with it since I bought it. The car drives extremely smooth and the shocks (which have not been replaced as far as I know) have held up very well. I've added probably 15 thousand miles since I purchased it and have had no significant maintenance issues. For a compact SUV, it has also been really efficient in moving a lot of things with the space in the trunk. Since I've gotten it, I've been able to put in (at different times) a twin mattress, a new grill, a large recycling can, and a medium-sized arm chair with foot rest.
Story
I purchased a small arm chair and a footrest at a furniture store about five minutes from my house and didn't realize they wouldn't deliver or hold it. I "measured" it, meaning I essentially eyeballed if it would fit in my car. The footrest fit no problem, but the armchair took a bit of work. After about 20 minutes, I was able to secure the chair in the back door enough to tie the door closed ... (more)
Pros
The best thing about this vehicle is the ease of things within it. For example, the seats go down with just a quick tab on the top of the seats. The headlights can be changed by just pulling out the bulb with the hood up. On my last car I had to remove the entire headlight just to replace the bulb. The other thing that's great is how spacious it is for a smaller SUV, I'm able to fit so much in it comfortably.
Cons
Really the only downside of this vehicle is that, being it is a 2012, it doesn't have the modern amenities that some people may look for. The Bluetooth only connects for phone calls, it doesn't have things like a rear back-up camera or navigation. The setup is just sort of basic. Another con relates to is being a used vehicle and that's the windows. There seems to be something on the windows that just can't necessarily come clean completely. This isn't an issue with the make and model but rather the used element of it.

I knew I wanted an SUV when I was looking to purchase a vehicle, and I wanted something spacious. This is the perfect compact SUV for everyday use and for trips. The vehicle runs smooth and is very comfortable. Extra storage in the rear of the car under the floor is great for storing less used items like first aid and emergency items. Compact enough for a close parking spot but spacious enough to transport a new grill.
Story
I was moving outdoor furniture to where I needed it at a new house, and it didn't quite all fit with the door closed so I tied it shut. Halfway through the drive, the string broke. Luckily, everything was heavy enough that it didn't go anywhere!
Pros
This vehicle runs very smooth even being a few years old. Exceptional fuel efficiency for a compact SUV which surprised me. The back seats lay nearly flat when put down which makes it easier for transporting things. There is additional storage under the floor of the rear of the car with compartments for storing things which is something I hadn't seen before. Lights turning off when you cut the engine even if you leave them on is a nice feature.
Cons
Being a bit older, it doesn't have all of the amenities that you can find on a new vehicle like upgraded radio or automatic seats. There is no auto lights on this car which would be nice to have. The opening at the back of the car is fairly small so items that would fit in the car don't fit because of this opening. Even with new bulbs, the headlights aren't very bright. The back window doesn't open which makes transporting long items more difficult.

The best thing was that the sales team did not push you into anything. The prices of the cars were reasonable and not over priced. The service department has always has a lot of staff working so the wait time is minimal.
