Purchasing a Ford Edge was a very smart choice for my family. I've taken a few short trips with it- weekend trips to the beach, the mountains, or to visit family in other states, and it performs well on the highway. Maintenance is easy and affordable, and I really like having the back-up camera. This SUV comfortably fits my family of four, which is two school-aged kids and my husband who is 6'3". in fact, compared to some other cars we have had, we liked how easy the seats are to adjust in the Edge compared to past cars. I can fit a lot in the trunk too, and if needed, I can lay the back seats down to move small furniture pieces.
Story
Taking my car to panther's games to tailgate is always a ball. Using the spacious trunk I can fit a lot of snacks and drinks!
Pros
I absolutely love having the back-up camera. Sometimes my children are a distraction when I am trying to use my rear view, and I love having that second glance. It is a roomy and spacious car, and we have even been in the back of it (my husband at 6'3" and myself at 5'2") when we took a vacation with my parents, and still felt comfortable. I like the pull down cup holders- helpful for my kids holding snacks or toys on longer trips and keeping them to their own "side" of the car. I also like that they have their own AC vents in the back- I worry less about them getting too hot in the summer... (more)
Cons
I have had a few maintenance issues with the console screen. Different issues, apparently needing updates when I would take it in to be serviced, but sometimes very frustrating when you can't get your navigation to work or your radio stations all suddenly deprogram. The center console is big and roomy, but a light inside of it would be nice.

2013 Ford Edge - Ideal car for my needs.

I purchased this car two years ago, and I am still very happy with it. The interior design is clean and quite roomy.
Story
The car handled effortlessly during a recent snowstorm. I did not have to worry about when to shift in and out of AWD as the vehicle did this automatically. Due to the weight of the vehicle, I felt very safe.
Pros
The car drives great. It's very smooth and has responsive acceleration and handling. Even though it's a smaller SUV, the car feels solid and well-built. It sits low enough to the ground to handle turns with little sacrifice in smoothness of the ride. As far as the interior is concerned, it is nicely equipped. I purchased with the My Ford Touch feature, and I love it. The system is intuitive and allows me to easily toggle between different functions while driving. I also like the Bluetooth audio technology in that I live by my smartphone, and it can easily be integrated with the vehicle.
Cons
MyFord Touch has a slight learning curve. It took a little time to learn all of the bells and whistles. Bluetooth audio (music) will sometimes skip or disconnect unexpectedly.
