I never thought I would like a mini cooper but its small size is perfect for in town living with very little driveway space. The exterior is two toned in ice blue and white with a panoramic sun roof. The performance is very good for a small car. It has great pickup and is very stable at high speeds on the highway. The sound system is adequate for my needs and satellite radio is available. The car does not sit as low as it looks so is not too bad when driving behind larger vehicles. I feel safe in the vehicle. There is good airbag coverage.
Story
I met my book club girlfriends at a restaurant nearby. They did not know I had a new car. They all drove together and were raving about the cutest little baby blue mini cooper parked outside. When we left I unlocked the car and got in. After having a good laugh, they each took turns getting in to see how the tiny little car felt. I think they were impressed.
Pros
I am very happy with the pickup and ability to sustain highway speeds with little effort. The gas mileage is around 40 miles per gallon which is a big plus. Small is actually a pro and a con. It fits nicely in my tiny driveway and is easy to maneuver down our narrow streets. It is a comfortable car so driving longer distances is not a problem.
Cons
I feel like the tires are too sport like and therefore I notice the bumps. I think with the next tire change I will get a different type of tire. Of course the small size can be challenging. I use a different car when driving more than 1 person. I would have liked a few more options. I don't have seat warmers or side mirror heaters. I had gotten used to those in a previous car. Storage is at a minimum so it really is just an "about town" car.

2012 MINI Cooper - MINI holds a special place in my heart.

My fiancée and I had a MINI Cooper when we first met and liked the close quarters. We actually called it "MINI the love bug." So when that broke down, we had to get a new one. The car we have now also has the turbo and run flat tires added. The car runs very well, even thought there are a decent amount of miles and is about five years old. I'm always worried about any car having a turbo, because it's usually just one more thing to fix, but ours has done excellently, without a hiccup. We really appreciate the quick, responsive boost in speed whenever we need to zoom past anything. It makes dodging in heavy traffic almost effortless as the car is so tiny, but add in the major boost in speed and it's amazing. We have occasionally heard a few squeaks and rattles, but they don't last, and t... (more)
Story
We took a little road trip to Mackinac Island, and it was right when the leaves were changing, so it was a really beautiful drive.
Pros
The look of the car is probably my favorite thing about it. It is very British, even though it's being made by BMW now. It's just a cute, little, fun car! In second place is the speed once it kicks into turbo. Definitely adds to the fun!
Cons
The size can be a bit of a hindrance. Technically, you could fit four people in the car, but I think it would be rather uncomfortable in the back. Even having a third person in the back looked like it would get uncomfortable for them after 30-45 minutes.
