The Mitsubishi Lancer (OZ Rally Edition) is a great car to own. There have been almost no mechanical issues beyond what would be expected for a car that is 10 years and 110,000 miles. In fact, it has gone across the country a couple of times with 3 people in the car - me, my wife, and a friend (he's over 6 ft tall!). We were comfortable and there was room for all of our stuff between the trunk and the other half of the back seat.
Pros
Pros: - Gas mileage has been 30 - 35 mpg the whole time I've owned it. It drops when I'm carrying two bikes on the roof, but that's to be expected. - Comfortable seats for all passengers - Easy to work on. I do most of the mechanical work myself, and almost everything has been easy to do (except the clutch, see cons)
Cons
Cons: - A trunk bike rack rests on the spoiler as the spoiler is too high off of the top of the trunk. This scratched up my spoiler early on in the ownership of this car. - In the 2003 model, the clutch is contained and really needs a professional to do the work. They fixed this by '05 so that it can be worked on separately without breaking other pieces of the engine. - Back seat passengers don't have a convenient cup holder or electric outlet. I'm not certain if they fixed this for new models.

My Mitsubishi Lancer is a great car. It's fun to drive and I enjoy coming back to it after driving rental cars. The only downside is that you can't fit four adults and a child car seat at the same time - unless the adults are very small.
Story
This car fit my wife and me (both of us short people) and my 6'5" friend on a road trip around the country, with all of our camping gear and formal wear for a wedding. We drove it from DC to Minnesota to pickup our tall friend, then down to LA for the wedding, then to Houston for the wedding reception, then back to the East Coast. The car was comfortable and no issues changing drivers even f... (more)
Pros
The Lancer gets great gas mileage, around 30 - 36 mpg every tank. Generally on the lower side when I'm carrying a couple bikes on the roof and it is windy. It looks sleek and like the rally car it was based upon, I've never had trouble with it on dirt roads. That said, don't take it truly off-roading, it probably won't make it very far.
Cons
The drawbacks to my Mitsubishi Lancer are few. The remote control for the doors isn't as sturdy as other ones I've owned. Both controllers, mine and my wife's, have shattered without any irregular use. In other words, we don't throw them around or beat them with a hammer, but dropped on the rug from a table and completely came apart. That being said, the keys still work great for opening the doors.

The purchase experience was stream lined and efficient helping out with the entire process. It was going to the grocery store and buying a gallon of milk. The price was set. The warranty was still valid Low mileage The cost of depreciation was already absorbed The vehicle was in excellent condition You're paying very little for overhead cost attributed to large dealer ships

The fact I could browse their entire used car selection via their website was awesome. I could choose a short list before even walking onto the lot. They were also very nice in terms of customer service, there was no shark feel or pushiness to the whole process. Was easy transaction, and paid less than their asking price. I would recommend Kuni as a go to or at the very least to check out.
