I bought this car with 28k miles on it. I now am pushing 70k. I drive it every day. Besides regular maintenance, I have had no problems with this automobile or need to take it in. I have a young boy, and while it probably would not be ideal for larger families, for my small one, it's perfect. I have never had to test this car in snowy conditions, so I cannot speak to its performance there. However, it handles great in the Oregon rain. I drove this rig from LA to Portland and back. It drove great, though the check engine light did turn on for a while. The Pep Boys told me it was a knick sensor, but it went off after I got back home.
Story
I live in Oregon where it rains about 10 inches per day. This car handles well driving in the normal inch of water that always seems to be on the roads.
Pros
Hyundai seems to be a good mix of affordability and quality. This car's performance, this far, seems to support that. I like how the seats lower and allow for larger things to be placed in the hatchback. The gas mileage is pretty amazing: 30 plus in the city about 40 on the highway. It's a smooth ride and quiet. I don't hear any annoying highway noises. I enjoy the Bluetooth and wireless, hands-free calling feature through the radio. I will keep this can for a few more years at least before I upgrade. I must say that it's been a real joy to own and drive. Now if I could just pick up all my... (more)
Cons
When a call comes in over the Bluetooth and I'm listening to the radio at a reasonable volume, the calls ringtone comes over the speaker at a volume that shatters my soul and deflates my will to live. I have to take a second before I answer the phone to calm down so I don't yell at the person calling. On long trips the check engine light seems to come on, then go away once it's not being driven non-stop. The Pep Boys told me it was a knock sensor that triggered the light. The fog light on the front bumper came loose. I cannot replace is without replacing the whole front panel of the rig. T... (more)

This is a basic four-door hatchback car with manual transmission. It is very affordable and reliable. I like that it seems to have a lot of trunk space and after putting the seats down, I have moved small furniture. It gets great gas mileage, often over 35 mpg. I have put about 40,000 miles on this car and have not had problems with any component. The arm rest on the driver's side seat is a nice feature, as well as the power windows. I do wish that it had cruise control. The seats are very comfortable. Next time I will get a different color interior fabric, because when it gets wet, its shows a lot of stains and discoloring.
Story
My boyfriend and I took this car on a road trip to Lake Tahoe, CA. We put my 50 lb. dog in the backseat and fit all our luggage in the trunk. It was fun to blast the music and crank up the AC.
Pros
Good gas mileage. Good exterior looks. Affordable.
Cons
Interior color. No cruise control. Manual transmission.

I had a pretty firm budget and the used car was already reasonably priced compared to others in the area, but I was able to negotiate pretty hard and get the deal that I wanted. So I felt pleased with their overall service, but it did take some time and persistence to get the deal. I was ready to walk, but thankfully I didn't have to. I was able to get all extra fees and taxes taken care of by the dealer, so it was a nice experience.
