My car is great. It has plenty of room to seat five. Has a built-in, factory-standard stereo that has CD compatibility as well as MP3 through a USB port or even on disc. It allows for hands-free phone built into it. It has the power and drivability for a family car or a work horse. I have loaded the back down full of computer towers, and it was great. All electronics work wonderful. It even monitors the air pressure of the tires. I once had three people and all the camping supplies and food for a weeks trip in it.
Story
I work on computers on the side as a hobby, and a friend had a big garage full of old towers he was willing to give me, but I had to go get them. I rolled up in my little hatchback and he laughed. I showed him, though, I was able to pack in every tower he had and gave him a ride into town to pick up his truck from the shop. He was even thinking of getting rid of his truck after he saw what ... Pros
My favorite feature of the car, I think, is the stereo. It has all the features of a home entertainment center in it. The only thing that would improve it would be a Blu-ray player for the kids. It drives great in the city and on the road. Great gas mileage. Comfortable even on long road trips, and the seat reclines for a quick nap at a rest stop. Air conditioning that will freeze you out if left on. The winter snow does not even affect it. It plows right through the snow easy as if in a 4x4.
Cons
Only real bad things about the car was the purchase. The price was reasonable, but the payments became unmanageable. That is mostly the financing company I used though, I think. No real drawbacks for the car itself short of its size. The gas tank is rather small. I really notice it when on even a 200-mile trip, you will need to stop and refill it.

The Scion XD is a practical and reliable car for the budget conscious car buyer. The gas mileage for city driving routinely tops 30mpg, and with careful driving can exceed 40 mpg. The hatchback and convertible rear seats give you a variety of options for maximizing passengers and cargo in such a small vehicle. My 100 pound Newfie has plenty of space to sprawl about with both seats down, and can sit and lie comfortably in the back if the seats are up. The sliding rear seats make the space comfortable for passengers over 6 feet, and it's one of the rare subcompacts that can truly accommodate 5 passengers without squishing, thanks to the lack of a "hump" in the rear foot well, and the tall profile gives you more headroom than most Japanese compact cars and sedans. The Scion's small size m... (more)
Story
One day I was at the beach with my dog, when I got a call from a friend who needed someone to pick her parents up from the airport. They were quite surprised when I showed up to the arrivals doors with a soaking wet 100+ pound dog hanging out in the in cargo space. Fortunately the folding seats came in handy, and me, her parents, their luggage and my giant dog all fit.
Pros
Fantastic fuel economy, roomy considering its compact dimensions, cute, great reliability.
Cons
Not very powerful, handling leaves something to be desired. Styling and materials used on the interior definitely reinforce the "economy" status of this entry hatchback.

The build quality is excellent. I have driven 52,000 miles and have had literally no issues. Toyota manufactures this brand and I consider it as reliable as any of the regular Toyota cars. All mechanical and electrical components are working perfectly. The interior has held up exceedingly well. It cleans well and is very durable. The included features make this car a fantastic purchase.
Story
Somebody walking buy us with a huge cart of items was amazed to see us store everything in our small car.
Pros
I love the overall look of it. I often get complements on the unique appearance and the smooth drive. The steering is excellent and the storage is ample. The quality of materials used is on par with manufacturing standards. The dash and electronics are intelligently laid out in a way that is easy to access and manipulate. I love the trim and molding of the exterior as well.
Cons
The child tow anchors are a bit hard to access. I often smash my fingers trying to get the car seat anchored in. I don't like that scion is often regarded as a young or cheap brand. I hear a slight wind squeaking on the driver front window. It seems as if the window motor pushes the window up too high and moves the molding.
