Sturdy, reliable car.
This vehicle does not break down easily or often, gets great gas mileage, and is the perfect size for a single person. It drives smoothly and quietly.

Better than expected.
This wasn't my first sub-compact vehicle that I had ever owned, so I knew going in that I would have to adjust my expectations of what my car should be. Once I dialed that in I found that was actually on the happier side of the fence! A 4 door sub-compact sedan that provided a surprising amount of room for passengers or hauling. Though, when fully loaded the strain on the little engine was apparent.

Reliable, Relatable, Responsible.
I have had my Scion xA since the summer of 2005. I only recently realized that before too long, I'll have been driving the same car for a decade. This is an incredibly good thing, both that I've been driving it for so long and that I just now realized it. This car has been wonderful to me and has never had a serious mechanical issue that was not caused by something unavoidable. I once spend $850 to repair the air conditioning only to later find out that I'd been scammed and should only have had to spend about $150. Even taking into account the $850 I was fooled into spending, the cost of maintenance for my car has been surprisingly low. Besides the aforementioned A/C issue and other than routine oil changes (every five thousand miles) and the recommended changes in the owner's manual like spark plugs, brake pads, and such, I have never had to take my car to the mechanic. I've never been left stranded anywhere and I've never had to find a way to get to work because my car wouldn't start. My Scion xA has been so reliable and I've grown to love it so much that when I moved 3000 miles across the country, I decided to pay almost $1000 to have the eight year old car transported instead of trying to buy a new one upon arrival. It's comfortable, it's got a good look to it, and most importantly, really: it's been ridiculously reliable.
