It is a solid car and I feel safe driving it.
The shape of the car isn't exactly the most pleasing, but the quality of the vehicle more than makes up for it. I, personally, am not a fan of leather seats after this car simply because of extremes in temperature. but otherwise it is very comfortable. I have never felt cramped sitting in either the front or the back and the trunk is large enough to camp/ sleep in for the night. The car is designed wonderfully in that there are no blind spots. Once it got older there were a few problems with oil leak, which seems to be an issue with the series, and a head gasket blew but that was on a cross country trip so the car was running hard for a long time but repairs are all reasonable. Gas mileage is pretty consistently 26 mi/gal. The car is fun to drive though as it got older it seemed to have difficulties going up hills. Braking and acceleration were both smooth to operate with no unpleasant surprises. I always felt in control.

My first car Legacy
The best part about owning a Subaru Legacy is the durability of the vehicle. Whether we were going to the beach or the river it always handled well and made strong movements. I did have a few times where my trunk locked and was unable to be opened by the key, which was tricky because I had to jimmy my arm between the pull down seats to unlock them and get back in. It almost made for some ice cream soup!
