I have driven my Crosstrek for three years and have put about 35,000 miles on it. I love this car for its reliability, smooth drive, and ability to handle all kinds of roads and weather. I have driven this car in snow, ice, sleet and heavy rain, and I have felt safe and in control of the vehicle at all times. I never worry about whether or not my car can handle the weather or road conditions. It has been extremely reliable. I have had no issues arise whatsoever in the last three years. This is my first time owning an AWD vehicle and I was worried about fuel efficiency, but the Crosstrek has exceeded my expectations. I average about 30 miles per gallon. Less (about 28 mpg) if I am exclusively driving on city streets and more on long highway-only road trips (33 mpg). I love thi... (more)
Story
I have a bad habit of pushing too close to the end of the fuel tank. We ran out of gas on a small highway in Arkansas, in a rain storm. We were getting ready to walk the mile down the road to the gas station (we almost made it!) when a state trooper pulled up. The trooper had extra gas in his car, and was able to give us enough to get us down to the gas station. It was embarrassing, but en... (more)
Pros
Fuel efficiency, off-road and all-weather ability and reliability are my favorite features of the Crosstrek.
Cons
A higher towing capacity would make this car even more useful. It would be nice to tow a small cargo trailer, which it can almost do. In the highest parts of the Rocky Mountains, the small engine does strain a little bit.

Overall, the crosstrek is an amazing car. It has all wheel drive which is amazing in the snow. I drove a pickup with 4 wheel drive before I bought the Crosstrek. It handles way better than the Pickup. It has Bluetooth stereo which is nice for taking calls and listening to your music. It regularly gets 30 miles to the gallon which is better than the EPA estimate. The handling is very good and I liked it for the ground clearance. It has the same ground clearance as a Jeep Grand Cherokee! My only gripe is the power. With a 2.0 Liter flat four and only 150 hp it is sluggish. With 5 people in the car it has a hard time moving quickly. This is the only engine option for 2013 so it is not something that you can fix. In one year I put 27,000 miles on this car. No issues in sight. Only regular ... (more)
Story
I was driving home late one winter night during a blizzard. There was already at least 5 inches of snow on the ground. I got to hill near my house when I noticed a few vehicles struggling to make it up the hill. after a few attempts they succeeded and let me give it a try. I blasted up the hill the first try. Needless to say, the people in the other car will think twice about their car choice ... (more)
Pros
I love the way this car looks! It is very aggressive. The Bluetooth stereo is a dream and has me spoiled for life. The gas mileage and winter capabilities make this car an absolute delight.
Cons
The biggest negative on this car is power. It needs at least another 50 horsepower to make it match how fun and zippy it looks.
