This was a great purchase by my husband and I. We knew we wanted to purchase a Subaru but were unsure which model to choose. We recently had a baby, so the Crosstrek and Forester were are top choices due to space and safety ratings. We went to the dealership and ended up choosing the Crosstrek due to the sportiness of the vehicle. We had to wait a few weeks to get exactly what we wanted, but it was worth the wait. The only manual transmission available in the area was in 'Desert Khaki' paint color. My husband loves this color. It changes in different lighting and can look anywhere from green to white or tan depending on the time of day. The vehicle has plenty of room and will be perfect for out family. The only thing my husband has been upset about it that we bought it after winter, be... (more)

We recently purchased a 2015 Subaru Crosstrek XV. Being the parents of 2 young children we were looking for something that would work for our family and yet still be fuel efficient. We traded in a large SUV that was horrible on gas and have been very happy with the fuel efficiency of our Subaru. The Crosstrek has a roomy back seat that fits our two car seats easily. The back hatch has been roomy enough to fit children's bikes, strollers, plenty of luggage, pretty much anything we have needed to haul. We also installed a hitch and have used it quite a few times to pull our trailer. It pulls it with ease. It has been the perfect car for our family.
Story
During this past winter we took our Crosstrek out to see how well the AWD really works. We drove around on some of our snow covered roads in northern Kentucky and it did great. We tried to get it to slip but it didn't budge much. Our kids really enjoyed going down the back curvy roads and even compared it to a roller coaster.
Pros
We bought the upgraded version that includes Eyesight. It is a very neat feature that gives you warnings if you veer out of your lane, come to close to an obstacle, or don't move when the vehicle in front of you moves. It also has adaptive cruise control which has been a great feature for long highway trips. We also really appreciate the fuel efficiency. For an AWD vehicle it does great on gas. The AWD was a lifesaver this past winter. We have a long steep driveway and were able to get up and out the driveway not matter how deep the snow was.
Cons
The one negative thing I would say about the vehicle is that it doesn't have the high end touches of some of the other vehicles we have owned. It doesn't have keyless entry, a sunroof or leather interior. The interior finishes also don't feel very high quality. There is a lot of plastic and it isn't very appealing to look at.
