I bought my Suzuki Grand Vitara used from it's original owner 5 years ago. It has been an awesome little SUV for me. It handles all the obstacles of mountain living just like the bigger SUV's do but without the high cost of gas. It's just small enough to park in the small spaces here in this little village and yet it holds a ton of stuff. I love that it has plenty of head room and you can push the drivers seat way back. It also has a nice ride even on the bumpy mountain roads. If I had to say one thing I don't like about it I guess it would be that the back seat doesn't have much leg room, but for a single gal that doesn't bother me much. It is quiet on the road and does great in the snow. I especially love the fact that the back gate opens to the side rather than up. I've been hit on ... (more)
Story
I like to explore and I took this little SUV down a paved road that turned into a dirt road. The car was doing so well and my friend and I were having so much fun that it took us quite a while to notice that the dirt road had turned into a riverbed! Now that's SUV off-roading at its finest!
Pros
Gas friendly (no guzzling here) Roomy (especially the space between the drivers seat and steering wheel) Plenty of storage space in back Does great in the snow
Cons
The leg room in back is tight Honestly the biggest con is that they stopped making them!

I initially did not know much about this brand, but after ten years of ownership, I have a new attitude about Suzuki. I have taken this vehicle across the United States, from Florida to California, and have put almost 300k miles on it with minimal cost and no major repairs. It has a strong v6 engine and four-wheel independent suspension. I got the sport package because it came with an automatic transmission and two-wheel drive.
Story
I recall driving this vehicle to the beach. We drove along the shore where there was only sand. I noticed a lot of vehicles would get stuck in the soft sand, but our vehicle had no problems navigating the beach. It was fun driving over the dunes with no problems. This vehicle was designed for off road.
Pros
The quality on this vehicle has been outstanding. I don't hear any rattles, and other than routine maintenance, there have been no major repairs needed. Both interior and powertrain have held up to many miles of used.
Cons
The only con is that the rear tires wear out sooner than expected. I spoke to the dealer, and they said it was to do with the way the rear tires set up from the factory.
