The gas mileage on the Prius is great. It runs smoothly and quietly, and the acceleration is very responsive. Despite being compact there is a lot of space inside for passengers and cargo. The climate control buttons on the steering wheel are very convenient and work great. Definitely an upgrade from the '98 Rav4 I had previously.
Story
For last New Year's, I drove the car a few hours to the desert and had a great time. Ran great. I was happy about the gas mileage and was able to listen to a lot of new music.
Pros
Definitely the gas mileage is a pro of this car. The gear shifter is nice and compact and unlike the center console one of other cars. It is very responsive and convenient, and one is able to shift gears without even looking. I definitely feel great about using less gas which is good for the environment. Great car for commuting and touring.
Cons
Sometimes the car runs way too quiet and people/pedestrians cannot hear you approaching, which can be dangerous. While in reverse gear, sometimes the beeping alert can get annoying, and I haven't figured out how to turn it off, and one might not be able to. The exterior and body of the car isn't the most nice looking I've ever seen. Also, the stock stereo doesn't come with an auxiliary input or Bluetooth to connect your own music, so I had to pay more money to install an aftermarket one.

The Prius has been the best car I've ever owned. I've had mine about ten years now, and it still runs perfectly, with a few minor issues. The price was good too, for what I've saved in gas over the years. We bought it as a family car (one kid), and it's suited us as well as anything. It handles pretty well for a small car, and it's deceptively roomy on the inside. The trunk is much larger than you would expect too. We've managed more than a few camping trips with a ton of gear over the years. While it doesn't do so great on a snowy road, it's a good choice if you live somewhere like California.
Story
Probably the time we went to Big Bear, in a blizzard. Like I stated above, the snow tire chains didn't help much. After hours and hours of crawling through insane weather, we finally made it all the way through the mountains ... only to skid out on the last, very steeply inclined, road to the cabin. Pros
Great fuel efficiency (around 45-50 mpg). Handles precisely on the road. Long lifespan, seldom breaks down. 10-yr. warranty on the battery. Good small family car. Worth the price you save in gas.
Cons
Poor speaker/audio system. Expensive to fix (computer parts). Some CPU issues, like the digital display going out at times. Tricky to jump start. Doesn't handle well in snow/weather or high winds.

It's definitely not the best dealer, they are only adequate. I only bought the car there because they had the color I wanted, and the car was in almost brand new condition. The dealer was only adequate. Not friendly, but not unfriendly, and sufficiently efficient with the paperwork.

It was very easy to buy a car quickly. Our car had broken down and no longer worked, we only were able to sell that car for one thousand dollars and the guy allowed us to use that as our down payment and come up with the other thousand within about a month.
