2001 Chevrolet Cavalier - It was great.
Overall, the Cavalier has been a good car. Vehicle has very good pick up and plenty of power. Very tight, responsive steering and smooth handling on the highway. The firm suspension make for a rougher ride on the city and side roads.
Story
Commuting to work
Pros
Reliable - starts every day, even in the coldest weather. Great traction in wet and snowy weather. Must be the great Kelly Tires I have on there.
Cons
Rust on these cars is inevitable around the rear wheel wells.
2000 Chevrolet Cavalier - Makes you wish for something better
The body and interior of this car are sound. I have had this vehicle for a long time and the inside upholstery and liner has held up perfectly. In addition the body is strong metal unlike the newer plastic bodies out today. However, due to a long standing recall involving the ignition switch, the electrical and sensors are of poor quality. In addition the heating issues involved in the ignition switch problem domino other mechanical issues. This ends up being a hearty car with a consistent appetite for repairs.
Story
This car is very popular in Cumberland, MD. More than once I have tried to get into the wrong car!
Pros
The Cavalier has wonderful gas mileage and a comfortable driver's seat.
Cons
There are a lot of recalls associated with this vehicle (including after-market parts) If you are not on top of these things, the fallout is quite a bit of repairs.
