2006 Chevrolet Malibu - A solid everyday vehicle.
My 2006 Chevrolet Malibu was a wonderful everyday car. It wasn't fancy or sleek. However, it was incredibly reliable. It was the workhorse of your everyday sedan. It was spacious, and the interior was nice. My CD player stopped working after a while, but all other aspects of the interior held up incredibly well. My Malibu was also very reliable. I very rarely had problems with it. I once had to change a bad wheel bearing, which was causing me some grief. That sort of problem can be a bit scary, as any involving the wheels/tires are. However, I was able to fix it for only around 100 dollars. Other than that, I had no problems with the mechanics of the car. It got average gas mileage. The handling was nice for a mid 2000s basic sedan. The back was roomy and the trunk was adequate. I thin... (more)
Story
I took the vehicle to a concert near my house. I drove some friends and we had a great time on the way. It was roomy so everyone was comfortable.
Pros
Very reliable. Fine gas mileage. Spacious. Dependable.
Cons
CD player stopped working. Had a problem with the front driver's side wheel.
2004 Chevrolet Malibu - Basic and reliable.
The 2004 Chevy Malibu is a basic car that is incredibly reliable. It looks good and was not expensive, even the LS model, which is the least expensive option. It has lots of helpful features. My vehicle is silver, so it is a nice color as well. The interior is easy to clean. It is a smooth ride and not too big, not too small—which is nice, as it is easy to park in the city where I live. It fits easily in my garage spot as well (shared apartment garage.) I have had other Malibus in the past and would definitely buy one again, although I don't know if I will need to for quite a while, as mine keeps going at 200,000+ miles!
Story
I work as a professional organizer, so I love taking the Malibu to jobs and telling clients that I will take any of the stuff they are getting rid of to the local Seattle Goodwills for donations. My line is "I'll haul whatever fits in my Malibu!"
Pros
This car has cruise control, power windows, power door locks, an alarm, power side mirrors, a radio with a CD player, and good gas mileage.
Cons
The gas mileage is not great, and I have had problems with the fuel injector. I have had two costly repairs because the tank will flood. Now I have to be sure to never fill the tank completely or top it off, because if I do, it will result in another $500+ repair, which I don't want. I wish the car would have alerted me of this issue, as it does give some warning signs on the dash.
