The 2011 Hyundai Sonata is sleek and modern in design and looks sporty. Being distributed by Korea, you can buy many accessories to update the look of your Sonata, from spoilers to bumpers and every thing in between. The interior is very roomy and comfortable and features a stock stereo system that sounds great, has great bass and features Bluetooth, XM radio, and is compatible with Apple iPods. When it comes to the way the car runs, we start having trouble. I have had to deal with multiple recalls on this vehicle. So many that they know me pretty well at the Hyundai dealership. The biggest problem I had was my engine blew up at around 100k miles due to debris being in the engine, which was fortunately another recall that I still qualified for. My entire engine was replaced after a two... (more)
Story
This car is a champ. We accidentally went into an giant mud pit during the rainy season in Port Angeles, Washington. My friends got stuck in the mud, but the Sonata got out...not easily but it made it!
Pros
The design and the way it handles, especially around corners. The sound system sounds amazing for a stock radio, and I love the Bluetooth feature. Very roomy and comfortable.
Cons
The many recalls, having my engine blow, which has happened to many other 2011 Hyundai Sonatas according to Sonata forums. I tend to go through tires frequently, and the engine, even after replaced, always seems to have a slight ticking sound.

My husband and I love nearly everything about our vehicle. Exteriorly, we love the coloring (a bluish purple, a cool, unique color), the body length is perfect. I love having a sunroof and four windows that roll all the way down. The trunk is large and easily handles all of our "baby gear" as we travel around with our newborn. The front console is wide and a bit deep which took getting used to. There is a backup camera, however this has gone out twice on us so there may be some issues with that. The back seats are fairly spacious and I love the mixed fabric/leather seats.
Story
It was so fun taking a short road trip across state. The vehicle felt roomy and homey enough to enjoy for hours at a time and the good gas mileage allowed us to only stop a few times and get to our destination quicker than we could have in another vehicle.
Pros
It has a beautiful and functional design. Everything seems to be where it should be and everything is in good reaching distance while driving. Also, we love the heated seats and also how quickly the car interior heats up, or cools down (good A/C). There is a lot of space both in the trunk and in all of the passenger seats. We have had to do SO little maintenance and feel it is a super reliable car. Even with some large road trips, we have very little concern over the reliability of our vehicle.
Cons
There are three downsides that I can think. One is that the back up camera has had some issues and we have had to have the center console replaced because of it. Also, the navigation system is fairly unreliable. The other con would be that the fabric, while a nice mix of both leather and cloth seems to hold odors pretty bad. Granted, we do get a bit stinky exercising sometimes, but I wish that it didn't hold smells quite so much.

Don, the salesman, was incredibly nice. Everyone there was welcoming and made me feel like I wanted to help. They took a holistic approach, as well, connecting me with their service department for future needs. They had a good selection and the dealership was clean and inviting.

They got me in the car that I wanted, despite my feeling that I wouldn't qualify for it. Their finance staff worked a long time with me and at the end of the day, I drove off in my new car. They also helped me with little issues after the sale, and gave me my first fill-up and an oil change for free. The facility was also clean and they had hot coffee and snacks waiting for me inside.
