2015 Chevrolet Sonic - Enjoyable to own
Everything in my 2015 Sonic hatchback works well for me and my lifestyle. The hatchback is great for someone who is short and can't reach all the way into a regular trunk. The model I own has a two-tone interior, which I didn't love at first, but I get a lot of compliments on it, so it seems to appeal to a lot of people. Smaller touches, like the captain's armrest and the touchscreen radio, make driving this car every day more enjoyable. My gas mileage isn't very impressive, but I mostly drive in start-and-stop interstate traffic, which has a negative impact on mileage.
Story
I live in a very sunny place, so having tinted windows is great—plus, it keeps people from seeing me when I get over animated while singing in the car!
Pros
Economical cost, hatchback option, and touchscreen radio.
Cons
The car started making an odd squealing noise intermittently after about a year—the technicians at the dealership have determined that it is something to do with the A/C, but they haven't been able to fix it yet. It's not a safety issue, so more of an annoyance than anything, but it is upsetting to have an issue like that in such a new car.
2013 Chevrolet Sonic - Great Little Car!!
I purchased my 2013 Chevy Sonic brand new almost four years ago. The car now has almost 100,000 miles, and I haven't had to change the brakes, yet! I took it in the other day to have them looked at, and the brake pads are still in good condition! I have never had a car that the brakes did not need to be changed for 100,000 miles. The only things that have had to be changed on the car are the tires and the oil. I am truly impressed Chevy!
Story
A Ford Mustang tried to race me once. He pulled up to the light where I was and started to rev his engine. This car looks fast, but is far from it. I just looked over at him and laughed. He smoked his tires and sped away.
Pros
Brake pads didn't have to be changed, and the car has 100,000 miles on it. Looks good, interior space is great for such a small vehicle, and the gas mileage is good.
Cons
The A/C compressor has gone out twice. Small plastic hoses cracked in the engine compartment and had to be replaced. Gas mileage should be better for such a small car.
