Among the great things about this vehicle is the roominess inside. It is great for trips, especially with the built-in DVD player. The seats can fold up and down giving you more space. You can haul furniture and supplies. Some of the issues we had with the vehicle are cosmetic. The cruise control button built into the steering wheel also broke. All in all, it's a reliable family vehicle but kind of looking for the fuel economy now.
Story
When we used the vehicle to go on family trips to visit other family for Thanksgiving or the holidays, the kids could watch a DVD and remain occupied during the trip, and at the same time, we could haul a great deal of food or presents to the family we visited.
Pros
The pros is the amount of space or roominess of the vehicle. It has served our family for quite some time. It has a built-in DVD player so the children can watch a movie. The seats can fold down giving a lot more room and can haul more materials. If desired, the seats could fold down, and you could sleep in the back if you wanted. There are plenty of coasters, tray holders, etc. for the kids to hold drinks and eat.
Cons
The plastic parts are the bad side. The passenger side door handle used to get in and out of the vehicle broke off. The plastic control button located on the steering wheel came off when one of the plastic catches broke off. The parking brake handle broke off leaving only a wire to release the break. Most of these are cosmetic but costly to replace. The other problem is the overall gas mileage. It is very poor—making taking an extended trip difficult.

I purchased this vehicle after I had my first child. I felt so much safer in a Honda Pilot than I did in a car. I am much higher than a car, but not so much that I feel like I have to climb up to get in my truck. Aside from feeling safe, the safety features are great! The inside is beyond roomy...I fit 3 car seats across my back seat! I also still have a trunk with the 3rd row up! The leather is soft and easy to clean (so important when you have kids!) As far as how it drives, it feel like a luxury car instead of an SUV! It's quiet and soft! Bumps are no problem! The stereo sounds great, with steering wheel control. A huge plus for me!
Pros
My favorite things about this vehicle are the safety of it, the comfort level, the size (since I have 3 kids) and how great it drives! I really love the sound of the stereo, along with the steering wheel controls. It's really not that bad on gas for an SUV either! We do regular maintenance, but haven't had any other real service issues.
Cons
When we first got the car, it was an "emergency" and we ended up leasing the vehicle due to the price. That is the only negative thing I have to say about it. After our lease was up, we ended up purchasing it though because we loved it so much!
