Reliable family vehicle
My husband and I purchased our current Town and Country minivan because our previous one was totaled in an accident. Choosing another vehicle was an easy decision because we were so satisfied with our previous minivan. We have three children and are expecting our fourth and are confident that there will still be enough backseat room when the fourth arrives. We really like the flexibility with seating options. We currently have one seat in the middle row tucked down into the floor for quicker entry/exit for the kids in the back row. The interior is surprisingly comfortable, the sound system works great, and the temperature is always quick to adjust. The fuel economy is pretty good for a minivan as well. There are about 120,000 miles on this family-friendly minivan, and we are confident that it will last for many more.

This car really has suited my family well. For several years, it was our only car and so has taken a licking but kept on ticking. It hasn't had any major mechanical issues, thankfully. We've learned to live with the rest. It seems that in this model of van, it was common for the electronics to get a little wonky. We don't have anything fancy in this, so no GPS or DVD player or anything, so the electronics that have been a problem are easy to work around (locks that have to operated manually, headlights that refuse to go off without cajoling). It's an inconvenience but doesn't really affect the transport function of the car.

Your grandmother's minivan
It's comfortable but has high maintenance cost and delivers low performance.
