A decent, reliable car
The Cutlass Ciera SL that I purchased a few years ago has been a pretty solid car since I've owned it. I haven't really had many major issues as far as the engine goes, though the mileage isn't amazing (around 25 miles per gallon). I've logged almost 30,000 miles on the car since I got it about 12 years ago, and it's still running today. It has decent handling and acceleration, and the brakes work pretty well. It's not a remarkable car, really, but it is definitely solid and has worked well for me. One little thing that I like about the Cutlass is the retractable antenna. It's a small thing, but I think it's kind of cool and enables you to fit the car under places that are a little lower to the ground without damaging the antenna.
There are some cons, however. For one thing, the power window motors gradually wore down over time, and they eventually got to the point where the windows would not roll up after having been rolled down, and you would have to wait X number of minutes before the windows would slowly close again. Another minor issue is that some drains inside the passenger-side door get clogged over time, and eventually the door will fill with water when it rains, and then you can hear the water sloshing around when you drive around for days after a heavy rainfall. This also tends to make the car smell a little murky after it's rained.
Overall, I think the Cutlass Ciera is a pretty decent car, but it's not something I would shout positive things about from the rooftops. It's just a solid vehicle that has gotten me from point A to point B. If you can find one with relatively low mileage, you can probably expect to drive it to well past 100,000 miles (a number I passed on the odometer a couple years ago).

It's not dead yet.
This car is old. This car is not a nice car. Yet, it will get you from point A to point B, and it will do so relatively economically, and if you are careful, it will do so for a long time.

My favorite car
My Oldsmobile was my first ever car, and my favorite car. I was lucky that when I received it was already almost fifteen years old, but still had less than 75,000 miles on it. I've driven it everywhere, long and short journeys, for years and never had a single problem. She's spent almost no time at all in the shop, beyond routine maintenance. It isn't the fastest car, but it isn't the slowest either. In fact, I've seen her make nicer, newer cars and their drivers look a bit foolish. The gas mileage is a huge plus. It isn't a hybrid, and it doesn't have the huge tank of a diesel, but it can make a good trip in one tank if used properly. On top of that, the simplicity of the car is what really helps to make it. It's wonderful to learn on. I'm not much of an engine guy, but even I've learned how to do some easy repairs on the Oldsmobile. As far as the interior, it's one of the most spacious cars I've ever been inside of. Even tall people can fit in the back with relative ease, and the front seats give out more leg room then even my second car, a pick up truck,
