A decent, reliable car
The Cutlass Ciera SL that I purchased a few years ago has been a pretty solid car since I've owned it. I haven't really had many major issues as far as the engine goes, though the mileage isn't amazing (around 25 miles per gallon). I've logged almost 30,000 miles on the car since I got it about 12 years ago, and it's still running today. It has decent handling and acceleration, and the brakes work pretty well. It's not a remarkable car, really, but it is definitely solid and has worked well for me. One little thing that I like about the Cutlass is the retractable antenna. It's a small thing, but I think it's kind of cool and enables you to fit the car under places that are a little lower to the ground without damaging the antenna.
There are some cons, however. For one thing, the power window motors gradually wore down over time, and they eventually got to the point where the windows would not roll up after having been rolled down, and you would have to wait X number of minutes before the windows would slowly close again. Another minor issue is that some drains inside the passenger-side door get clogged over time, and eventually the door will fill with water when it rains, and then you can hear the water sloshing around when you drive around for days after a heavy rainfall. This also tends to make the car smell a little murky after it's rained.
Overall, I think the Cutlass Ciera is a pretty decent car, but it's not something I would shout positive things about from the rooftops. It's just a solid vehicle that has gotten me from point A to point B. If you can find one with relatively low mileage, you can probably expect to drive it to well past 100,000 miles (a number I passed on the odometer a couple years ago).

Sturdy, reliable, fast
Though it's an older model, this car is a beast. It has started for me every time. I have done some maintenance on it, mainly due to the previous owner's negligence, but it has been easy. The engine seems to never miss a beat and still starts easily. It has nice, steel rims on the wheels. This looks nicer than a lot of other cars. I also still enjoy the passing power it has on the interstate. Overall, I wish they hadn't discontinued this car. It's value and overall performance is probably why you still see these things all over the place.

A Great Car for the Decades
This has been a great midsize car to own. It has lasted for decades and still runs wonderfully. The size is perfect, not too big and not too small. It's well constructed, making driver and passenger feel safe and secure. The only problems really are those that come with age -- the rubber that lines the windows and trunk has worn out and the ceiling liner has lost its grip and sags. The engine, though, runs reliably and steadily and all the gadgets still work. It's a nice looking car. I wouldn't call it unique because I actually do see a lot of similar white Olds Cieras on the road. However, that also tells me more about the durability of the vehicle because it's not just mine that is still out there, carrying drivers place to place. The car has always been comfortable to ride in with automatic seat controls that were luxury for the time when I bought it. The handling has been good with the worst component probably being the brakes. Sometimes you wonder if the car will stop. It's always been that way and I'm not sure why, but otherwise, no real complaints about anything.
