Low miles, modest luxury, high maintenance.
To me, this iteration of the 88 model represents Olds' last days as a "classy" if dated marque. It's a relatively simple car, with a few subtle touches (such as stimulated wood grain - totally high brow back in the day) that bump it squarely into the middle class, middle market bracket Olds traditionally occupied. However, 'the under the hood' components unfortunately are showing their age.

The car that lasts and lasts
This is the luxury edition of the Olds 88. Not only does it have leather seats, automatic windows, seats, locks, but wood grain on dash to give it a classy look. The car looks fabulous, especially when it was new, but the best part about it is that is keeps going and going and going. It has over 250,000 miles on it and is still running great! It has been a very dependable car, with only minor repairs done through the years, such as brake pads, oil changes and such.

Fairly dependable, not a long term car
It is a very reliable car. It works fairly well and has lasted a long time. It does not cost very much too maintain, relative to other cars. However, it also is not very fuel efficient. Since it is old, its fuel efficiency is expected, but the newer cars are so much better and cheaper to run. It has broken down a few times, mostly the air conditioning and a few parts in the engine. It has also survived hitting a deer. It has lived a long life and lasted well, and was used when I got it, so I have nothing to complain about overall. But it's not exciting.
