2002 Oldsmobile Silhouette - I love this van!
I bought this used with over 100,000 miles on it and it is still going strong. It is built to last. There are plenty of airbags so I feel like my children are safe. The fact that it is so long means my husband is able to fit the lumber he has to buy in it without having to get a truck to bring his lumber home. It is a very comfortable vehicle with lots of room for passengers and all our gear.

I like to decorate the luggage rack at Christmas, and my friends tell me they recognize my van around town because of it.

A V6 engine and automatic skid adjustment help this vehicle stay safely on the road and give it the power to handle all weather and manner of terrain. There have been other more current vans on the road, but the consensus of people who have driven this vehicle is that it is so well made, they don't need to trade up. This mini van is a model that has seen upwards of 200,000 miles, and requires very few major overhauls in engine repair. A good choice for anyone who needs to travel in comfort and with ample space.
Driving around my neighborhood, my dogs like to hang out of the windows, and I get people to smile at the sight of two dog heads on each side taking in the breeze. And that makes me smile!

Ease of use, and removal of back seats are a big plus in this vehicle. It can be conformed in many different ways, with bucket and bench seats either folded down or removed. The comfort of driving and getting in and out of the van is a positive, as it is low to the ground. Also, little roll over possibility with that feature. Good gas mileage, and low repair bills are also an advantage.

Not really a lot of bad things to say on this one, unless someone is looking for a smaller vehicle. One repair that's needed at around 75K would be the only negative, and that is a seal that is made from material that breaks down and requires the engine to be removed, and having all gaskets replaced at the same time.
The battery is a little hard to get to and requires removal of a bar that blocks it.

2002 Oldsmobile Silhouette - An amazing family car!
IÕve owned a lot of vehicles in my life, but this one by far takes the cake! I have a 2002 Oldsmobile silhouette with about 152,000 miles on it, and lots of life left for sure! When we got this minivan, it had sat for over a year without being driven. It did have some rusting issues along the rocker panels beneath the doors and along the wheel wells, but we do live in Michigan, with all sorts of weather. Other than that, the body is a beautiful sea green, with lots of sweet features! Inside is a cream leather interior, that doesnÕt have a crack or tear in any area. That really surprised me for being almost 18 years old! There are 10 cup holders in total, and can seat seven passengers very comfortably! IÕve sat in the back myself, and itÕs even perfectly comfortable for adults in the ba... (more)

IÕve sat in the back myself, and itÕs even perfectly comfortable for adults in the back too. The sliding doors are electric and powered by buttons near the rear doors, buttons up front for the driver to open, and also with the key fob buttons! Unfortunately, the right side sliding door isnÕt working to open and close always, so we mainly have to use the other side sliding door. The steering wheel has many controls on it, but my favorite are the stereo volume and search buttons. There is amazing air flow in my van with the front windows down, and the passenger windows tilted open. Unfortunately, the front driver's side window isnÕt on the track so it isnÕt going up and down properly, but with all the other amazing features, I donÕt really mind! Honestly, since weÕve gotten this awesome soccer mom family van, my three kids havenÕt fought once. They canÕt reach to touch and bug each other, and itÕs so nice and quiet because theyÕre too busy doing their own thing and jamming out to the awesome stereo!
Taking the kids to the beach is a breeze even without towels because the seats are leather and easy to wipe off. No more wet seats!
