I purchased my 2007 Subaru Impreza sedan back in 2007 with 36,000 miles on it. In its previous life, it had been a rental car in Hawaii (why, I'm not sure). 110,000 Miles later, I haven't had a single problem with it... It's acceleration is excellent, the 4WD is incredibly useful for snowy, Colorado winters and the exterior style looks great. The only downside is that interior space is limited. The backseat's about as large as a convertible. On the upside, trunk space is oddly generous. Last negative point: it's a pig on fuel. Averaged 25 mpg on the highway in fair weather :/. I believe this has something to do with the fact that the 4WD is engaged full time, but I'm not sure. Overall, however, I'd purchase this vehicle again (and plan to).
Historia
Driving through a snowstorm, up a mountain to visit a friend. All without a care in the world.
A Favor
- This Interior styling is Excellent and All of the panels fit together well. Many soft-Touch materials, and the Seats are easy to clean in the event of spills. Colors are black and grey, which still look contemporary today. - Exterior styling is awesome
En Contra
- Below-average fuel economy. I got about 25mpg on the highway and 18mpg in the city. That's comparable to a highly efficient small truck - which aint good. :/ I do tend to have a bit of a lead foot, though... - Interior space is extremely limited. The r

The 2007 Subaru Impreza is the first and only car I have owned. It has been safe, durable, reliable, and an overall great first car. It isn't the flashiest vehicle, but the four-wheel drive which comes standard on all Subarus makes it great for driving in inclement weather and challenging terrain. It is sporty, fun, and easy to maneuver. I have put over 100K miles on the car over the past seven years, and it has held up great. As a Subaru, parts and maintenance can be expensive, but I do believe that it has been a worthwhile investment.
Historia
I have used the car to drive family and friends to the Pocono Mountains in Pennsylvania. The roads can be very mountainous, winding, and not often in great condition, but my Subaru has always held up well on these trips and been enjoyable to drive.
A Favor
The four-wheel drive is arguably one of the best features of the vehicle. I have driven in the winter time and felt very safe and confident on the road, whereas other people I know have told me their cars have slipped in the same conditions. The size of the car is also very convenient. I have felt comfortable driving the car in cities and densely populated areas but have also been able to utilize the interior and trunk space very well. I have moved apartments in the car, traveled with friends and pets, and used the car as a daily commuter car. Overall, I have to say the reliability and saf... (more)
En Contra
I would have to say the 2007 Impreza isn't very technologically sophisticated. The console and dashboard are pretty basic, and there are not a lot of exciting standard features. Additionally, the fact that it is a foreign car means that many mechanics and auto shops don't have Subaru parts on hand (unless they specialize in Japanese cars), so it can be time consuming and costly to order specific parts for repairs.
