The 2001 Ford Explorer has a high quality engine that will not need much servicing. The build of the car is great and it is nice and roomy. It sits higher above the road than a car. It comes with some window tinting. The Ford Explorer looks appropriate amongst high end vehicles in "well to do" areas.
Story
The vehicle is great for camping in and I have used it in my travels all around California as a cheap place to sleep and live out of. I have also used it as a shag mobile because it is so roomy and has the potential to offer so much privacy.
Pros
Pros about the Ford Explorer was that is was nice and roomy inside, and the rear of the vehicle is spatially convertible to a camping space that can fit a twin mattress. It has a great heating and air conditioning system. A rear window wiper and defrost capability is nice. An electronic display system monitors your oil life, gas mileage, oil pressure, brake fluid, oil level.
Cons
The gas mileage on the Ford Explorer is very low. The tires are more expensive than a car's because it is an SUV. It also requires a more expensive battery. The paint on the top of the car was not durable enough and began to peel with time. The interior vinyl seating construction was not durable enough and ripped over time. The car gets too hot parked in the sun and should come with some kind of solar ventilation system.

One of the things I like about this car is that it's not too big or not too small. I feel it has a good amount of trunk space. Being a massage therapist, I can safely say that a standard-sized massage table fits inside quite nicely. I've never had a car with a rear windshield wiper, so having one in this car is pretty nice. I've had this car for 10 years, and it hasn't needed any major maintenance.
Story
Waking up at 6 a.m. and picking up a friend to go hangout in L.A. and getting back at 6 p.m.
Pros
I feel that this car is pretty good with gas mileage. It's no hybrid, but for being a smaller SUV, it's not bad. I've driven from San Diego to L.A. on less than a full tank of gas. I also feel that the car handles very nicely. Not too wide turns made at all. It's also a bit easier to park than other SUVs. Since it's not much bigger or longer than regular-sized cars, it's easier to parallel park and see behind the car.
Cons
It can get tight in the back kind of quick. I'd safely say that four people can fit no problem, but five people can get cramped kind of quick. It's also not so great in leg space in the back, but if you're not tall, than you should be fine.

They were very helpful and didn't seem to force me into buying a car like other places do. I bought what I wanted, not what they wanted.

They were so warm and attentive. They didn't make me feel rushed or pressured to buy right away. Very informative and service has been great since.
