Gas Mileage was great. I traveled 40 miles each way for over a year in this truck. Previous vehicles would take a half a tank of gas each way. Not this truck, it would be a quarter tank as long as I kept up on the daily maintenance. Smooth Ride. I have back issues. Driving in a car or truck hurts me most times. This truck had a very comfortable driving experience for me. Was not too high off the ground. Again I have issues getting in and out of the more bigger common sized trucks. This one was a breeze to get in and out of even for me. This truck lasted me a very long time, 6 years, and it was already very old with over 200,000 miles on it when I bought it. I loved how easy it was to drive. I have driven many other trucks and vans and this one wasn't as hard to get around a parki... (more)
Story
The most fun I had in this truck was going to snow covered empty parking lots and doing doughnuts in it. It had enough power and traction to handle and never lose control. I loved getting sideways in it in the parking lots as well. My kids loved sliding in the snow.
Pros
Not a gas hog. The truck bed was big enough to do lots of moving and hauling. Smooth ride. Easy to find parts for. Easy to fix; not hard to work on.
Cons
Could only seat 3 people in the front uncomfortably. Fit two people better. It was an extended cab but had little seats. You had to be child size to fit. Cost of some of the parts were high.

I bought my 1996 Ford Ranger with 135,000 miles on it. It currently has around 160,000. Because I am from Michigan, most of the issues are due to rust. Other than underbody rust, the truck runs great. It has a 2.3 L engine, which is really small, and it struggles to climb over mountain passes. But you just need to slow down, and ride with the semi trucks when the road turns upwards. I have a camper shell on the back and do a lot of camping and have actually even lived out of it on an extended road trip. It is a 2WD, manual transmission. So it is not great for difficult off-road driving, but with some good tires, you can drive rugged dirt, rocky roads just fine!
Story
Sleeping in the back and waking up and making oats and coffee then riding bikes around the Grand Canyon!
Pros
Great size. Not too big and not too gas guzzling. It will hold three people but, realistically, it will hold two comfortably. Easy to drive and you can park it anywhere a standard car can be parked.
Cons
Rust issues due to salted roads in Michigan. Slow on windy, open roads, such as across Kansas on the interstate when the speed limit is 80 mph. Not enough power to tow or haul heavy loads.

The dealer was willing to work with us on the price and was kind enough to charge the vehicle before purchase. They also cleaned up the car prior to purchase and showed us the primary features of the vehicle. When asked about the vehicle, they were able to answer almost all the questions I asked.

The agent we worked with was very accommodating, and was always available when we had questions or something to talk about. He worked with us to obtain the car we wanted and gave us a very good deal on our trade-in. Working with the financing department was easy and seamless. All-in-all a very positive experience, and got the car we were looking for.
