I have had this workhorse for 14 years and will probably have it for another 5. The engine will outlast the body of this workhorse and has never failed me catastrophically. With regular maintenance including replacement of worn parts I have logged 220,000 miles and still going strong.
Story
camping in the U.P. of Michigan many times with this vehicle including taking a small 12ft boat IN THE BED so we could access remote fishing lakes in the U.P.
Pros
2 wheel drive provides good gas mileage with ample towing capacity the extended cab allows me to pack the kids in if I need to the engine provides ample power to pull my boat the bed provides enough room for my cargo box and any load I might need
Cons
rust, rust and rust. I feel Chevrolet used poor quality sheet metal suppliers for their trucks including this one as they all seem to rust in the same places. The tailgate and especially the cab corners corrode and "hole out" rather quickly.

So far, this truck has been both a good and a bad thing, it really depends how you look at it. I do love having a nice truck like this that I can easily haul things with and take friends on longer trips, but at the same time, there have been a lot of glaring problems with this that I think Ford might have just tried to sweep under the rug or totally ignore all around. The truck has the seemingly "normal" Ford Explorer rear window/hatch issue. This is very annoying, since the rear window latch does not always latch. And then there is the rear hatch issue where it does not also latch or at times will latch and then not easily open back up. Then there is also the rear plastic on the hatch that I have seen almost every Explorer of this age have cracks or be entirely broken. This right off ... (more)
Story
I took my now girlfriend on our first date in the truck. She loved it and still does and always wants to go out on our date nights in the truck.
Pros
Very roomy, easily hauls a trailer, and great for long trips.
Cons
Rear window/hatch issues, transmission issues, brake line issues, and shock issues.

I liked this dealership due to the great customer service and friendly attitude of the people helping me out. The prices were competitive compared to other dealerships which was a big deal to me. Also I have to say that I liked the fact that the salesperson wasn't pushy, but instead helpful with helping me find the right fit.
