Pros

  • Spacious and luxurious interior
  • Refined CVT
  • Top-notch fuel economy
  • Superior display graphics
  • Cons

  • Busy interior
  • Clunky infotainment unit
  • Engine noise issues
  • Hybrid option is pricey

  • Key Takeaways

The 2014 Honda Accord is a standout in its field, driving more like a compact than a sedan and outmaneuvering its Camry and Mazda 6 competitors. Pricing is a bit higher for both the gas engine Accord and its hybrid counterpart, but it offers great value with a comfortable, roomy interior and excellent fuel economy. Its sophisticated feel and smooth engine performance make the Accord a joy to drive, overshadowing some minor issues, like a busy interior and somewhat outdated infotainment center.

This is been a great car for my small family of four. We often go high 20s/low 30s mpg around town! It's more like mid 30s on the highway. I was absolutely ecstatic when I saw that gas mileage. For the price, this is a great sedan that you definitely couldn't go wrong in purchasing.
    Story
We've taken a ton of short car trips around town to enjoy the local scene. We always enjoy driving into downtown and stopping at the food carts to get some grub!
    Pros
On top of the gas mileage, I couldn't ignore the amount of room there is in the car. I'm over 6 ft tall and am all legs, so pretty much every sedan I tested out was way to cramped, but I could not believe how much leg room I had no matter what seat I was in! Another great feature is the amount of cargo space there is. We've taken multiple car trips and have fit a TON of stuff in the trunk plus more room at the foot of ours two girls (in car seats) in the back seat.
    Cons
One complaint I have about the car is the width of the trunk. The trunk itself is quite roomy, but the width of the opening is pretty narrow and has made it difficult to fit some items through the opening even though they would easily fit in the trunk itself. The other con is that the back seats fold down only as a full bench, which means you if anything needs to come through the back seat from the trunk then you can't have anyone seated in the back seats.

The Honda Accord is a good-looking, small sedan. It looks peppy and sporty, though it's not a stand-out-in-a-crowd car. It seats five people comfortably. The interior is roomy, and the seats are easy to be in for long periods of time. The drivers side has sufficient back support, and the steering wheel is adjustable to a fine point. The gas pedal and brake are spaced well, and the controls are easy to get to. It has a rear cam that makes backing out of tight spaces easy, and all the mirrors are very well placed for ease of use. The sound system is great, enjoyable to listen to, and the all in all feel inside is on the posh side. The car handles well in the city. It is responsive to a variety of situations. On the highway it is easy to speed up and merge. The maneuverability is excellen... (more)
    Story
I took my Honda on a road trip to the beach. It's a five-hour drive from my home, mostly through boring desert. The car was such a blast to drive, and so comfortable. My friends and I barely noticed the length of the trip at all. It was so easy to drive that even in a new location. I was able to get around, with a lot of directional mistakes mind you, pretty easy. So much fun.
    Pros
The pros of the Honda Accord are the fuel efficiency, the ease of maneuverability, the interior comfort, and the overall looks of the car. The features it comes with are pretty good too, without having to add a ton of options at purchase. I also love the head room, tall people should have no problems in this car.
    Cons
A big negative is, even though the car looks good, it's pretty standard for its class. Nothing really stands out about it, and it can be confused for several other makes and models. It also could have a deeper trunk and air control in the back seat area.
