The EX-L Odyssey is one trim level down from the top of the line "touring" trim level. Comes with a 3.5 liter V-6 V-Tech engine and 6 speed automatic. The common difference between the two trim levels is the wood grained trim and optional subwoofer for the touring level trim. Almost everything else is the same. Captain chairs for the driver and passenger. The middle row seats three and has several different options for how the seats are installed. The three seats are all removable and I have removed the smaller middle seat for easy access to the rear seat area. Rear seat area seats three in a 60/40 split seat. These seats also drop into the rear trunk area to make for a flat floor which is great for loading and still taking passengers. Ours is equipped with the DVD and Navigation syste... (more)
Story
Cross country trip with the family from California to Illinois. Stopping at the Grand Canyon and other landmarks on the way.
Pros
I love the DVD and built in navigation system. It allows us to input not only destinations but landmarks, businesses, etc... Mine also has Sirius Satellite radio which my wife loves. For the price there are several channels that I enjoy listening to (older country music and news), however there are tons of channels that we do not use. The rear DVD system is great as well. My children are able to handle cross country trips a lot better than they do in other vehicles due to the distraction it provides them. The headphones are a life saver as well. The engine performance and gas mileage are g... (more)

This is a much needed repair to be done to avoid the cost of replacing an engine. One high cost I did not like was the update disk for the navigation. Almost $200 from the dealership. In this day and age, you would think an updated GPS map would be cheaper with the advance in technology, however I guess it is not when it comes to vehicle navigation. A downfall to having the DVD and Navigation is that I can not easily replace the factory rad... (more)
