Great truck, great mileage.
The Honda Ridgeline replaced the Ford F-150 I’d had for 20 years. I loved the F-150 but needed something with better gas mileage. I averaged 16mpg in the Ford. I’ve been getting 22mpg with the Honda with mixed city/highway driving. I could only afford a lower end Ridgeline model but I am happy with the amenities it has. Thoughtful things like tire pressure readings and outside temperature sensors make it fun to drive. It has many controls on the steering wheel including cruise control, entertainment system volume, and hands free which works great with my iPhone. I was not sure how I would like the keyless entry system but I have grown to love it. I keep the key fob in my pocket and can link, unlock, start and stop the car without taking them out. If they fall out of my pocket the truck won’t let me lock the door with them inside so lock-out worries are gone. A big relief to AAA! The seats are roomy and comfortable for me. I have some chronic pain conditions so I was worried about loosing the comfort and roominess of my F-150. The Honda is not quite as roomy as the Ford but it is fine for me, even on long trips. The climate control system is great with front/rear controls and automatic or manual operation. My biggest disappointment is with the infotainment system. It is functional but not great. There is no tuning dial for the radio. The thing I think I like the best is the trunk in the bed of the truck. It is very roomy and water tight. The tailgate swings down or across for great access even if the tonneau cover is down. A great addition that hold all of the stuff that would normally crowd the back seat.

A great mid-sized truck.
Who would have figured Honda would sell a great mid-sized truck? I had seen earlier model years that had that strange looking sloping bed. I was not a fan. I have owned several Honda vehicles in the past and was always happy with them. When I saw that Honda had redesigned the awkward looking bed of their mid-sized truck I got interested. My Ford F-150 was 21 years old and starting to have maintenance issues. I talked about it with my wife and we decided to purchase a new truck. I read several online reviews of the Ridgeline and they were all glowing. My choice quickly narrowed to another F-150, a Toyota Tacoma or the Honda Ridgeline. I wanted better gas mileage than my current F-150. Both Honda and Toyota promised that. I also needed a roomier and more comfortable driver’s seat than most smaller cars on the market. I read several reviews that had good things to say about the Toyota except for the driver’s seat. One test drive was all I needed to tell me the Honda Ridgeline was the truck for me. After a little more than a year of driving it, I am happy with my purchase.
