We purchased our Mercedes Benz ML350 used in October of last year with about 77,000 miles already on it. My husband and I love this vehicle. The ride is smooth and clean. In nearly a year of ownership, we haven't had a single issue with it. The styling and comfort of the interior are superb. We are both on the shorter side, and the seats adjust well to allow us to drive or ride comfortable. The fuel economy is great for such a large vehicle. As a stay-at-home mom, I can run errands with my child for a week or two without ever needing to fill up, and longer trips don't necessitate lots of stops to refuel. Our family is expanding to four, and the large backseat will make adding a second car seat a breeze. Living in an area with lots of snowy days in the winter, I never have to worry abou... (more)
Story
We have a large hill leading up to our house. We always have fun with the amount of pickup this vehicle generates as we go up the hill. We feel like we're in a plane about to take off!
Pros
Quality, fuel economy, handling in all weather conditions
Cons
Some premature wear to the leatherette seats, cost of potential repairs

1999 Mercedes-Benz M-Class - 1999 ML320 Fairly Nice, but not Really up to Mercedes Usual Standards

The look of the 1999 Mercedes ML320 is nice on the outside, but rather moderate on the inside. The seats look and feel nice, but the plastic parts, such as the cup holders and ash trays have a cheap feel and look. They are not very substantial, and one cup holder as broken. The interior wood-look trim looks nice, but has cracked over time. There have been a few interior rattles, even when the vehicle was newer. Electronics have been good. The speakers for the stereo system have a bit of a buzz to them. Performance and reliability are fair. This vehicle is a gas guzzler but it has an eight-cylinder engine, so that's to be expected. The seats are quite comfortable on a long trip. There have been problems with it burning oil recently. At times, when I step on the accelerator hard enough t... (more)
Story
When vehicle was new, our kids were so excited to get in and ride along, even if we were just doing mundane errands that they normally were not interested in.
Pros
Comfort Safety Plenty of space Large vehicle, but can fit into average parking space Heated seats Electronic seats Leather seats
Cons
Cheap plastic on some interior parts Problems with air conditioning Burning oil Loss of pick up at times when accelerating Speakers not great

I got this car as my first car and never had a major problem with it. With that said, I have had a few problems concerning the ESP/BSI light not going off and the check engine light that omes on and off because of the air flow sensor. With that being said, I still believe it is a good car and can handle the stress I put on it, e.g. driving 80 miles a day,3 days a week and running it out of gas. It is a safe car and is the main reason why it was bought for me. Has at least 8 air bags just in the front and many more in the back. As for the features, the sun roof is great, although the headliner is falling down because a stick got jammed under the windgaurd and now I can't open the sun roof without the headliner falling down and making obnoxious noises. The leather is cracking due to impr... (more)
