We purchased our Mercedes Benz ML350 used in October of last year with about 77,000 miles already on it. My husband and I love this vehicle. The ride is smooth and clean. In nearly a year of ownership, we haven't had a single issue with it. The styling and comfort of the interior are superb. We are both on the shorter side, and the seats adjust well to allow us to drive or ride comfortable. The fuel economy is great for such a large vehicle. As a stay-at-home mom, I can run errands with my child for a week or two without ever needing to fill up, and longer trips don't necessitate lots of stops to refuel. Our family is expanding to four, and the large backseat will make adding a second car seat a breeze. Living in an area with lots of snowy days in the winter, I never have to worry abou... (more)
Story
We have a large hill leading up to our house. We always have fun with the amount of pickup this vehicle generates as we go up the hill. We feel like we're in a plane about to take off!
Pros
Quality, fuel economy, handling in all weather conditions
Cons
Some premature wear to the leatherette seats, cost of potential repairs

1999 Mercedes-Benz M-Class - 1999 ML320 Fairly Nice, but not Really up to Mercedes Usual Standards

The look of the 1999 Mercedes ML320 is nice on the outside, but rather moderate on the inside. The seats look and feel nice, but the plastic parts, such as the cup holders and ash trays have a cheap feel and look. They are not very substantial, and one cup holder as broken. The interior wood-look trim looks nice, but has cracked over time. There have been a few interior rattles, even when the vehicle was newer. Electronics have been good. The speakers for the stereo system have a bit of a buzz to them. Performance and reliability are fair. This vehicle is a gas guzzler but it has an eight-cylinder engine, so that's to be expected. The seats are quite comfortable on a long trip. There have been problems with it burning oil recently. At times, when I step on the accelerator hard enough t... (more)

When vehicle was new, our kids were so excited to get in and ride along, even if we were just doing mundane errands that they normally were not interested in.

Cons
Cheap plastic on some interior parts Problems with air conditioning Burning oil Loss of pick up at times when accelerating Speakers not great

The window does not roll up after I rolled it down. The top end of the car is very heavy. When you are turning a corner, the car leans. I generally feel like I could have made a better purchase with the money I spent, because the year of the Mercedes is the biggest issue I'm having. However, I do like the smooth rides down the highway.
Story
I was driving to school in the storm of the winter and I saw a few other people had gotten into car accidents, but my car rode smoothly until I got to school.
Pros
I like the power and heated seats that come fully equipped in the vehicle. I truly appreciate that it's a dependable care to have in the harsh Michigan winters. It's durable and lasts long and carries heavy loads when needed. Even though the mileage is pretty high, it will always start and get you from point A to point B.
Cons
It has a loud engine that attracts unwanted attention from people. It's a used vehicle, so things are constantly breaking and constantly needing to be fixed. The gasoline consumption in the vehicle and all of the money poured into it doesn't seem to be worth the headache. It locks up on you if you turn the key in the ignition the wrong way.
