Along with the high maintenance costs, the parts on the vehicle on the interior are flimsy. On the exterior, panels on the trunk and grille have come off. The leather has deteriorated unlike that of similar models in the BMW and Audi. In addition, the car averaged 13 mpg with a V6 engine. ML350 has a lot of power for towing. Can take it out mudding or off-roading. Looks and feels like a truck. As vehicle aged, steering got looser and ride was bumpy. A major downside to this car is the lack of technology for its time, with a lack of an AUX cord or USB connectivity.
