We purchased the Mercedes Benz GLK 350. It is smaller version of the MLK series SUV. I loved the car right away. It is built very intelligently. So, although the exterior looks smaller, it has good legroom especially in the front side. It has sharp lines and looks extremely sleek. The interior designing has been done decently and the wooden dashboard gives it a nice and rich feel. The audio controls provided on the steering wheel as well as the inbuilt Bluetooth receiver for dialing and receiving calls also provide added comfort. The cabinet space is also decent, especially the cup holders and as well as the cabinet given next to the drivers seat is really helpful to put in smaller items such as keys sunglasses, wallets etc. The car works very well at high speed with very low vibration... Story
We went around to many state parks around our place using this car. We loved driving it on the freeway because it had very low vibration
Pros
The positive things for me were the sleek shape first of all, so well designed!! The four wheel drive redefine the driving pleasure, and you barely feel the fatigue even after driving a long distance. The tastefully done up interiors especially the wooden trim look wonderful. The Bluetooth being inbuilt is so helpful, so I don't need any external devices. The braking is really wonderful, as compared to my other car from the Honda family. And of course the Mercedes brand which is so reliable means a lot to me
Cons
Hmmm.. The negative things I would say is the smaller legroom at the back. The relatively small size of the boot make it a little problematic if you want to go for longer drives, or even when it comes to stashing the kids bicycles. It would be nice if I had a inbuilt GPS in this model itself.

I have always ever owned an SLK calls Mercedes. There are just so many things I love about this car. First, it's arguably one of the most eye catching cars. I don't go a day or so without someone, somewhere asking about it or telling me they think it's an awesome car. Of course the speed and it's ability to accelerate is equally admirable. The ride is so smooth and it handles with ease. However, due to the quietness of the drive, it can be difficult to remain driving at the speed limits at times. The interior of the car is surprising large. I am nearly 6 feet tall and have plenty of leg and head room. The console is ergonomic with many of the controls imbedded in the steering wheel. The car is a hardtop convertible, meaning that with one click of a button the hardtop retracts and secur... (more)
Story
Nearly every week at the gas station someone inquires about the car and tells me , "nice car", "sweet ride", or "awesome". This never gets old. I find this extremely fun!
Pros
Eye catching, retractable top, leg and head room
Cons
Higher incidence of speeding tickets because you don't recognize your speed

2006 Mercedes-Benz SLK - Fun to drive

It is a great looking car and I have received a lot of compliments on it. It sits really low to the ground, so when I go over speed bumps it bottoms out. Curbs are also too high so I can't pull up too close to them. The front bumper has cracked several times and it is very expensive to get fixed. Maintenance is very expensive for the car.
Story
It was fun to drive it with the top down by the Mississippi river.
Pros
It is fun to drive the car. I love the heated seats and neck heaters. It is a beautiful car. The retractable roof operates quickly, so quickly that I can put it up or down while at a stop light. I love the leather seats. The trunk fits a full-size suitcase, which is nice if you take it on vacation. It is a very smooth drive. You can fit a pair of skis in the passenger seat if you position them just right.
Cons
The cost of parts is very expensive because it is a foreign car. I cringe every time I go over a bump because I'm afraid I'll scrape the bottom of the car. Tires are very expensive. It requires premium gas, which is more expensive.
