I bought this car a few years ago, and what a pleasure. The dealership was very reasonable to deal with. I was in a bind and needed a vehicle right away. I was able to purchase this off of the used lot for a great deal, cash, on the spot. I was worried that I would get a hard time, because I went in with all the blue book values and knowing the car I was looking for, but it was a completely hassle free experience.
Story
We get a lot of ice where I live. Recently I was driving out of my driveway which goes down a hill. The car went sideways, but stopped easily before plunging out into the road out of control.
Pros
The car is in great shape. It is a full size sedan so there is plenty of room, especially in the trunk. I am very pleased. The all wheel drive makes driving in the snow no problem. The car is very clean throughout, and the leather interior has held up very well. I am so delighted. The stereo is quite powerful, and has a 6 CD changer. I know CDs are not as popular as they used to be, but the stereo can hold a good bit of music. CDs are kind of archaic for storage, but I can carry a bunch of CDs easily.
Cons
There is no navigation. This is kind of unfortunate, but I have maps on my phone so it is no problem. I usually know where I am going anyway. Also, the fuel economy is pretty bad. It gets around 20MPG which is not so good.

This car has been great to me. I have had the car for almost 100,000 miles and I had nothing major wrong with the car. The trim level is very nice, with leather seats, power everything, sun roof, large engine, huge trunk and back seat. Small touches such as enabling the seat to tilt backwards as well as move backwards is very nice. I am able to adjust the seat perfectly, the steering wheel, and even the brake pedal!
Story
I used this car to bring my new born daughter home from the hospital. I am glad I had it, I feel safe in it, and I feel safe when she is in it.
Pros
This car feels like it's built like a tank! It feels like it's built sturdy and strong while driving it, and it feels safe. The car is made by Ford with Ford parts, so finding mechanics or parts is very easy and cheap. Ford is still not as well trusted of a brand as foreign models, however that works in this car's favor! It is cheaper, but runs just as good for just as long. This car has not had a single major issue and there are no signs of an issue happening, I think I can confidently say this car will get me another 75,000 miles, ending it's life at over 250,000 miles!
Cons
Gas Mileage. It gets a disappointing 20-23 miles per gallon. You pay for the large back seat and trunk in gas mileage, and you pay for excess speed in gas too.

This is the first car I've purchased, and it was a great decision. I've had few problems with the car, and most of the problems I did have were covered by the extended warranty I purchased. My Montego is an incredible value. I have all the luxury of a great factory sound system, leather interior, spacious trunk and seating, but I didn't break the bank to get it. A fantastically smooth ride.
Story
I was able to pack up my entire college apartment in this car and drive all my stuff back home. The space in this car is ridiculous. I've hauled so much stuff in the trunk alone!
Pros
Huge value, small price tag. Leather interior, smooth luxury ride, and few mechanical issues.
Cons
Body began to rust a few years ago, which seems to be a problem with Montegos.
