At first I was leery about buying a Pontiac van. However, with all the features, the warranty, and the interior - I could just go on and on. I just couldn't resist. I had to buy it. It runs great. It has a nice smooth ride. It has great pickup and great gas mileage. I love the interior and the way the dashboard is set up. Everything is close and convenient. I have only had this vehicle for almost two years. I can't think of anything negative to say at this time. As time goes on, I'm sure problems will arise. I will have something to say, but as of right now, I have nothing but good things to say about this great van. I made a great choice by purchasing this van, and I am very happy with it.
Story
I was putting groceries in the van, and I was ready to go home. When I shut the side door and went to get in the driver's side, the driver's door was locked. I got upset, and I called my husband, and he said he would come with a spare key. Well, I waited over an hour for him to leave work and drive in traffic to come rescue me. He happened to check the passenger side door before unlocking the ... (more)
Pros
My favorite things about this vehicle are I love the smooth ride, and I love how the van hugs the road. It is a nice quiet ride. It has great pick up. I love the color package I picked out. The interior of the van is so nice and comfortable. Even though it's a good-sized van, it is still easy to maneuver and park due to the style and specifications. It is so easy getting in and out of the van and loading shopping bags in the van. There is so much room for anything I need to take home. It's just so convenient to have this van.
Cons
It would have been nice if the drivers and passengers windows came with that plastic rain guard at the top to keep the rain from coming in when you're driving. The rear window wiper could be longer to get a better swipe on the window. It also would have been nice if there was an option to get the blind spot mirror that goes on the driver's side mirror. That would have been an option that I would have purchased. I think it's a necessity with the van, because there are so many blind spots.

As someone who has owned sedans in the past, I was skeptical about the Montana SV6. However, the SV6 is one of the smoothest rides I have drove. It handles bumps and potholes like a pro. The build is pretty sound as well, having been in a hail storm once or twice, I haven't noticed any dents. It's great for hauling large items as the seats all fold down. There's also built-in storage in the back of the van that doesn't take away from cargo space. I also enjoy the media center during long road trips. It allows me to store movies and cd's, the van has a built-in DVD player. It keeps my three year old very entertained on long drives. I think the interior cloth could be better quality, it stains easily and having a small child it stains often. I do wish the electrical work was better, ther... (more)
Story
During 4th of July we took this van to the reservoir to shoot off fireworks. My son, being 3 years old, was afraid of fireworks. During the first half of lighting them off he stayed hunkered with me, his mom, in the back of the van getting eaten alive by bugs. When he finally got the courage to go out and participate he would jump out of the back of the van and help light a firework and then r... (more)
Pros
The smooth ride and power steering. The storage capacity as it has built in storage in the cargo space, the option to fold down the seats, as well as a media center in the middle aisle. The built-in DVD player is a nice feature on long road trips with small children. The highway gas mileage seems pretty good for a van of it's size, usually getting 22-24mpg. The exterior is built well. It's an affordable mini-van.
Cons
The electrical work seems like it was overlooked or poorly done. The power key entrance stopped working not long after we bought it. The power lock will lock all but one door. The sliding door sometimes does not respond to the power button option. The back windshield wiper motor went out. The in town gas mileage is poor. The interior is very poor quality and stains easily.

Bought this vehicle at approximately 100K miles. This is a multi-tasker's dream machine, not just your average grocery getter or taxi cab! Two adults, a daughter and all her accessories, a 65 pound dog and we still have room for groceries, sports equipment and more! The seats are comfortable and can be removed with very little effort. We even managed to easily transport a full size water heater, could have comfortably fit two side by side, no problems! The DVD player keeps the kid and any of her friends riding along happily occupied, plus, it has an air compressor for any inflatable needs, Bonus! Whether a long, relaxing drive in the country or zipping through the city streets, this vehicle is up to the task! As with most Pontiacs, however, the suspension is noisy and often small parts... Story
Taking the dog to the park. Loading everyone and everything up and going to the beach. Making multiple shopping stops and having plenty of room for purchases. No problem going to your local DIY Box Store and loading up!
Pros
We love the functionality of this vehicle. Pretty spacious, seats seven comfortably. The seats are very easy to remove and the amount of space available after they are removed is MUCH more than we would have thought. Rear tinted windows are an added bonus. Rear air compressor comes in handy. Daughter loves the rear DVD player. Overall very reliable, outside of a dead battery, no complaints there.
Cons
The standard crappy Pontiac suspension. Bumpy, noisy ride with more repairs to front and rear suspension and components than seem common. Harmonic balancers go bad on these relatively easily. Lots of complaints about rear suspension noise, no problems since replacing the self leveling shocks with regular Monroe.
