Pontiac Montana OWNER RATINGS & REVIEWS

Very pleased and happy with this vehicle
The vehicle altogether is a great ride. The quality of the vehicle is exceptional compared to those that I have had in the past. The carpet quality has held up to almost new condition even with two children riding continuously. The van has 174K miles on it and has not caused me any real issues other than basic up keeps. I have had no issues with the radio or key electronics. There is a speaker control system for the back of the van that has never worked since we purchased it, but its never affected the van at all. It definitely doesn't have much horsepower, but it's a van!

Good Family Van
As someone who has owned sedans in the past, I was skeptical about the Montana SV6. However, the SV6 is one of the smoothest rides I have drove. It handles bumps and potholes like a pro. The build is pretty sound as well, having been in a hail storm once or twice, I haven't noticed any dents. It's great for hauling large items as the seats all fold down. There's also built-in storage in the back of the van that doesn't take away from cargo space. I also enjoy the media center during long road trips. It allows me to store movies and cd's, the van has a built-in DVD player. It keeps my three year old very entertained on long drives. I think the interior cloth could be better quality, it stains easily and having a small child it stains often. I do wish the electrical work was better, there are things wrong with it that seem like a manufacturing error, things like certain locks not working, power window function going out on the passenger side, the motor shorting out in the back windshield wiper, and the power sliding door not always wanting to work properly. These are minor, but very annoying things.

Not great.
I bought this vehicle used, and it has been nothing but problems. Break down after break down, and every part is hard to get to fix it. It gets maybe 20 miles to the gallon, so you spend a fortune to keep it gassed up. The seats have weird turning knobs to lay them down/raise them up, making a simple action like adjusting your seat a irritating experience. This van will get you from a to b, most of the time, but once the trouble starts, it never ends. Don't buy unless you can afford a good mechanic, as doing repairs is more difficult than it has a right to be.
