2003 Pontiac Montana - Mom's Montana
Bought this vehicle at approximately 100K miles. This is a multi-tasker's dream machine, not just your average grocery getter or taxi cab! Two adults, a daughter and all her accessories, a 65 pound dog and we still have room for groceries, sports equipment and more! The seats are comfortable and can be removed with very little effort. We even managed to easily transport a full size water heater, could have comfortably fit two side by side, no problems! The DVD player keeps the kid and any of her friends riding along happily occupied, plus, it has an air compressor for any inflatable needs, Bonus! Whether a long, relaxing drive in the country or zipping through the city streets, this vehicle is up to the task! As with most Pontiacs, however, the suspension is noisy and often small parts... Story
Taking the dog to the park. Loading everyone and everything up and going to the beach. Making multiple shopping stops and having plenty of room for purchases. No problem going to your local DIY Box Store and loading up!
Pros
We love the functionality of this vehicle. Pretty spacious, seats seven comfortably. The seats are very easy to remove and the amount of space available after they are removed is MUCH more than we would have thought. Rear tinted windows are an added bonus. Rear air compressor comes in handy. Daughter loves the rear DVD player. Overall very reliable, outside of a dead battery, no complaints there.
Cons
The standard crappy Pontiac suspension. Bumpy, noisy ride with more repairs to front and rear suspension and components than seem common. Harmonic balancers go bad on these relatively easily. Lots of complaints about rear suspension noise, no problems since replacing the self leveling shocks with regular Monroe.
2003 Pontiac Montana - Reliable Minivan
This minivan is still very reliable, even at 160,000 miles. Car parts are readily available. It runs well in both highway and in town, and can seat eight passengers.
Story
I don't have any stories yet.
Pros
My favorite thing about this vehicle is that the seats are removable. I have three kids in car seats, so I removed one of the second row seats. I have two car seats in the second row and one in the third row. It is very easy to access all three car seats to get the kids in and out easily.
Cons
It does not get very good gas mileage. It doesn't have leather seats.
