I really, really love my Saturn Ion 3. It has been a great, reliable car that I have grown to depend on. It is 10 years old now and has only had very minor problems (one of the back windows does not roll down, for example). I really miss the Saturn brand; if it were still around today I would be a loyal Saturn buyer for the rest of my life. Saturn makes great cars, and the Ion 3 is no exception. It is roomy enough in the front and back seats, but still feels like a compact car.
Pros
My Ion 3 has been reliable, dependable and economical. I have the manual transmission version, and the gas mileage is great. Also it has held up marvelously over the years, needing only regular maintenance and small mechanical repairs over the 10 years that I have owned it. I also truly love that all of the gauges (gas, odometer, etc.) are in the middle of the dashboard. It was strange to adjust to at the beginning but now it is one of my favorite features of the car; I wish all vehicles were the same way.
Cons
The car does sit pretty low to the ground, which can be a turn off for some people. Also, the headrests are plastic/rubber rather than upholstery, which makes them harder than regular headrests. I probably would have preferred more traditional upholstered headrests.
