This vehicle was purchased a few years ago with about 27k miles on it, and has been extremely reliable throughout the past 40k. There were a few issues over the years, with various buttons (window, radio) not working but nothing major that caused an inconvenience. The car handles very well, acceleration is good. Interior is fine but plain though I don't really care about that, seats are comfortable enough for 10 hour road trips. It's a little smaller than I am used to, which has some drawbacks when needing to pack or transport things, but overall fine. Mechanically the only issue has been that the sway bar links gave out pretty soon after buying it, which I thought was odd, but everything else is well put together and solid. Would recommend if you can still get one with reasonably low ... (more)
Story
I've had a lot of fun road trips visiting family with this vehicle. I got to take my fiancé to Centralia to see all of the abandoned former buildings and see all of the interesting stuff in Central PA. The car made it through the windy Central PA roads without any issue!
Pros
All around solid, seems safe, reliable transportation with very easy maintenance so far. Fuel economy solid.
Cons
Some mechanical and electrical issues though nothing too bad, interior kind of plain and gets dirty pretty easily.

When I first got this car, I was a little skeptical because I did not have any experience with this particular brand. Turns out this ended up being one of the best cars I've ever owned. It was sturdy and did not give me any problems with all of the traveling that I do up and down the road. It was comfortable and just the right size for my families needs. I had to rush and purchase a vehicle, so for a while, I was on edge about the vehicle breaking down on me. I just had to get used to it. This car has been the best one that I have been able to depend on. I read reviews about it, and I haven't had any of the problems that other Saturn Ion owners were complaining about.
Story
Taking my little one to school, and our long trip up the road in the mornings. As we rode up the street to school, we saw all type of morning activities going on, the rush of the traffic and people about in the world trying to hustle and bustle to where they need to go.
Pros
Heat and air conditioning were very strong and worked great. Gas and mileage is good. The handle and feel of the car is comfortable and easy for me to maneuver.
Cons
There was nothing negative that I have experienced with this vehicle except for a flat tire which can happen to any tire on any vehicle.

They talked with me long enough so that they could understand what exactly it was that I was looking for. The salesman then collaborated with another to go through their inventory to try to find one that was as I wanted. They worked with me on a price and we ended up agreeing on a price that worked well with my budget and what I was willing to spend.

I don't know about it being the best, but they were one of the few to actually want to finance me. I was 18 at the time and my options were extremely limited. The dealer offered to lower my payments as he knew I was planning to attend college. The car runs fine and I haven't had any problems with it.
