2007 Toyota Matrix - Great city car
It's a great city car that has withstood time and the amount of mileage that we have put on it. It still runs, but the upkeep has been tremendous. I wish I knew more about the longevity of the vehicle. I think the Matrix runs great. I used to love driving it. However, commuting has taken its toll on the car and also my relationship with it. If you don' t mind paying to replace the front brakes and rotors several times then you will like the car, too. However after 120,000 miles the car requires a tune-up, replacement of the exhaust system, and parts of the suspension start to falter.
Story
We have taken it to Plum Island in Newburyport. You can drive your car around the island and observe birds that make that island their homes throughout the year.
Pros
I like the size of the car and that it has enough room for a family of four plus cargo space in the back. I like that it runs on a Corolla engine which is probably one of the many reasons that the car still runs at 179,000 miles. The hatchback is a great addition to the car design because it allows a place to sit and eat near your car.
Cons
While I understand that car parts begin to deteriorate over time, I wish they lasted longer. I don't like the fact that the main door light assembly is broken. I'm not happy that the driver's side window is broken.
