The Toyota Matrix is a good reliable car. I bought it after leasing it for 5 years. The car gets great gas mileage and has had little engine problems other then normal wear and tear. I liked the car because of the high seats originally as we had leased one when I was pregnant and it was much easier to get in and out of then the 4 runner we were leasing previously. The shape of the car is very pleasing to the eye and it has a wonderful paint color dark grey with a little sparkle which I really like. The head room is great I have some friends that are over 6 feet tall and they have no problem getting in and riding in the front seat or back. The leg room in the back seat is pretty good as well. We are able to fit 3 adults in the back seat pretty comfortably. The back or trunk area is larg... (more)
Story
We have taken the matrix camping and when it was too cold outside in the tent we were able to fit 2 adults and one child pretty comfortably in the back of the car two front seats. We were so happy we had the car and drove home the next day. Not much of a camping trip but I was very happy we had the room in the car.
Pros
Gas Mileage High seats Very few blind spots if any Easy to drive Easy to change oil Great space Fold down back seats Plastic lined for trunk or back space
Cons
The breaks always squeak even after new pads are put on. Isn't as quiet as more expensive cars in the cab. The door locks have had to be replaced prematurely. No carpet kit for the trunk area standard (you can buy it for way too much extra) No actual closed trunk

This car was purchased with the intention of using it as a family car. Sort of a substation for a mini van. We have the car seat for two of the girls in there and it is very comfortable and easy to put them in and take them out.
Story
Well we bought the car when the two girls were born so basically this car is with us as the family is growing. And it has always served us very well.
Pros
Top positive things are that I only put fuel in it once a week and it is very efficient and comfortable to use. It runs very smoothly and quietly so if the kids are talking to me we can have a good conversation without having to yell. It is very easy to take care of and it is very dependable. Every morning I wake up and I never have to worry about the car not starting or anything else.
Cons
Honestly I cannot think of anything except that we bought it new so now we are paying off every month. Other than the cat, there is nothing negative about it at all, and I can honestly say that the price was worth it.

The dealers knew what I was looking for. They asked me what kind of car I wanted and I told them the characteristics I was looking for. After telling them this, they went ahead and introduced me to cars that I was definitely looking for. Their customer service is really good and they never leave you hanging in confusion.

The employees were very friendly and helpful. They answered all my questions. Whenever I have to get my car serviced, they provide a nice waiting area complete with internet, food, coffee, and a small cafe. These amenities and the ease of communication with the employees make it easy to keep my car in good shape.
