This car is the most economical car I have ever owned. Most compact or sedan sized vehicles I've driven get - at most - 30 miles per gallon. But with the Toyota Prius I regularly get 45+ miles per gallon. I have driven up and down the east coast for less that $50, and have had no mechanical issues whatsoever. The car is not the greatest looking, nor is it as luxurious as other sedans, but the people at Toyota made sure to balance this detriment by providing the best value per mile driven. The hatchback design provides plenty of room for groceries and is large enough for camping trips, while electronics are up to date and modern.
Story
I drove to New York from Georgia and back for about $100 with my partner. We fit our 3 small dogs in the back seat with all of our luggage in the trunk and made several stops along the way.
Pros
The gas mileage is without a doubt the ultimate appeal for this vehicle. My cost of travel has plummeted since purchasing the Prius, and makes longer day trips or long road trips much more enjoyable. I can drive hundreds of miles at a time without worrying about the cost of gas. The car is simple and straightforward, and works just as advertised.
Cons
The Prius lacks speed and acceleration. It can be sluggish at times and I can tell when the computer in the vehicle is moderating the acceleration or speed. Unless the car is in Sport mode, it is slow to accelerate.

I really love my Toyota Prius. Even though I bought it used and with around 60,000 miles, it has performed extremely well. First, it is very comfortable and spacious inside. It's hatchback design and fold-down back seats allow me to fit so much material inside. I can carry about twenty 2L bags of mulch inside. I like to do my own maintenance on the car, and changing the engine oil and oil filter, air filter, and other components is very easy. The engine runs really well, and the car still gets 55-60 miles per gallon. It is so wonderful to spend almost half at the pump of what I used to pay for gas with my previous car. My Prius also has a great stereo system and sound, and I love the Bluetooth features. I absolutely love my Prius!
Story
Went to Home Depot and thought that my Prius would only be able to fit ten bags of mulch. Paid for the mulch at the counter, had it loaded, and found out that I had so much room left! I went back to the counter, paid for another eight bags, and after loading, I still had room! I had to go to pay for mulch three separate times because I did not realize how much could fit into the Prius!
Pros
Very fuel efficient between 55 - 60 MPG. Very spacious interior. Easy maintenance and care. Replacement components are cheap and easy to replace. Very reliable performance even with high mileage.
Cons
There is a very annoying back up sound when the Prius is put in reverse, but this feature is quite useless because it only sounds inside the car, not outside (like with a truck).

No hassle. Felt they were honest. Did not pressure me to buy the car. Very helpful - Mom had issue with her car and they fixed her flat tire. Did not take any payment for fixing tire.
