I bought the car used at the beginning of 2014. For the price, it was a great deal. A little over $47,000. Test driving the car was fine. It handled well, the ride was smooth and quiet, and the comfort level was perfect. Owning it, the gas mileage was on par with the vehicle's weight and engine size. I was about to get about 20-25 miles to the gallon, which made it a great city car. However, one drawback was the car's size. Parking in the city is difficult to find for larger cars outside of the pricier lots and garages. And parking on the street is all but impossible without pre-existing spaces laid out by the city. Repair costs were high but expected. Nothing I couldn't afford, otherwise I wouldn't have bought it. However, within the first year the car needed to be serviced some eight... (more)
Story
The trip my girlfriend and I took to Denver with another couple. We've taken trips before in the Accord, but the ride in the back seat was too uncomfortable after long stretches. In the BMW, this wasn't a problem. Everyone was able to ride with exceptional comfort. The car's smooth ride also made the trip that much more enjoyable. Aside from all the constant problems, I found myself wishing to... (more)
Pros
The spacious cabin was an absolute plus for me. The room made it easier to travel with friends and family on outings or vacations. My Honda Accord only has so much room and makes for an uncomfortable ride long distances for anyone in the backseat. The BMW solved this problem. I also loved the smooth, quiet ride. It almost relaxes you when you're driving, as you don't feel all the bumps in the city roadways. Handling was good, especially on the highway. I love the pickup when you tap the gas.
Cons
There were a number of problems with this car, and I assume it was due to the car itself, not necessarily the brand. About a month after I bought it, I noticed it would stutter when accelerating. Not sure what was causing this, but I took it to the dealership almost four times in the following months to address the same issue. Then there was the slight oil leak. At first, I had the gaskets around the oil pan replaced, but when the leak persisted, I had the entire pan and gaskets replaced. It stopped for a while, but the leak returned. I ended up selling the car, because I couldn't locate t... (more)

The BMW 7 Series Li handles surprisingly well, compared to my 2000 3 Series. A tap on the brakes allows you to stop on a dime, and a tap of the gas allows you to achieve 70 mph in no time at all. I was also surprised by the roominess in the vehicle. The outside of the vehicle seems small in comparison to the inside. There is a ton of room, especially in the back seat, and that's not even mentioning the leg room in the front and the back of the vehicle. The back seat is comfortable and long enough to secure an average person's entire body for sleeping purposes. I love the fact that I am able to view my speed in the windshield as a direct line of vision, but the beeping that reminds me that I am speeding can be somewhat annoying. However, with the touch of a button, the feature ca... (more)
Story
On our way to shop for groceries, my daughter yelled, "Mom, I can lay in the seat and listen to my phone!" Five minutes later, she was full-body stretched out on the seat, fast asleep.
Pros
The vehicle handles extremely well. My favorite feature is the control knob for the radio and other accessories. I may choose to keep my eyes on the road and use the steering wheel to control the radio or I can use the knob near the gear. The display and print/font size are perfect. I especially like the fact that the driver's manual is included as a choice on the display.
Cons
It does not have a remote start.
