The Buick Lucerne is a solid, dependable car. I like the range of options on the driver's seat position. I am very small, and my husband is very tall, and we both fit well in this car. I am able to position the seat up and down as well as forward and back and adjust the wheel position as well. I love the button on the door that allow me to set the ideal seat position for myself and another one for my husband, so it is a one-touch return to my favored position whenever I want. It has many bells and whistles including seat warmers, a great sound system, multiple cup holders, and access to the trunk through the back seat. I don't like that there are blind spots that can make backing up tricky.
Story
I was my father's car, and I love the way that I feel close to him in it. I love driving it and remembering how he looked in it. When he bought it, my brother and I went to the dealership with him and helped him to pick it out and determine a fair price. We had a great time as a family. I love to sit in my car, because I feel like I am wrapped in his love. He was never an extravagant man,... (more)
Pros
Steering wheel warmer. Seat warmer. One touch seat return. Seating for six.
Cons
Blind spots. Shallow cup holders. Wide turning base.

The Buick Lucerne has been a good vehicle since I owned it. The vehicle has heated seats and heated steering wheel, which is nice during winter. The engine has been very dependable for me. I drive about a 100 miles a day. As long as basic maintenance is done on the engine, it will last. The transmission was good till about 114,000 miles and needed replacement. This will cost about $3,500. After that was replaced, I have not had any issue with the vehicle. I'm still happy with it.
Story
The Lucerne was always used for going on vacation, as it was a roomy and dependable vehicle with ample trunk space.
Pros
The engine is very dependable with upkeep. I believe this engine will go into the 200,000-mile range. The Lucerne comes with many features, which make it a great vehicle. It has a aux jack for mp3 or to play music off you phone. The vehicle has heated seats and heated steering wheel, which is really nice during winter. The seats also come with touch controls to move to appropriate setting. Lastly, the vehicle has an automatic rear view mirror for night time, which is great.
Cons
The major concern for this vehicle is the transmission. The transmission will go out around 114,000 miles. When reading other reviews online, this is about the same mileage as the Lucerne transmission went out for others. Replacing the transmission is not cheap either, as it costs about $3,500 at the dealership to replace. Other issue is that the vehicle is not fuel efficient like other models. I get about 22 miles to the gallon, which should be better. Those are my only complaints with the Lucerne.
