1999 Cadillac Eldorado - Good car, Great Value
The Northstar powered Eldorado is an underrated performance car for the price. Smooth and strong V8 gets 22-24 mpg combined running premium. A moderate amount of interior space but fine for a coupe. Anybody under 6 feet tall can sit in the back seat without issue.
Story
After first purchasing the vehicle I went for a drive up into the local mountains of Southern California, the torque and passing power of the vehicle was quite enjoyable and made for a relaxing drive.
Pros
~6 Second 0-60 and 14.Xx quarter mile for under $ 3,000
Nice sounding stock stereo system.
Ample parts availability, can be serviced at any Cadillac dealer for less cost than German brands.
Understated but classy styling, distinctive without being ostentatious.
Cons
Slow transmission response under hard acceleration.
Front wheel drive limits handling potential.
Slight lack of headroom for taller drivers.
Long doors can be difficult in tight parking environments.
