The 2008 SRX is one of the best cars I've ever owned. The ride is smooth and I can get into tight spaces easily due to the tight turning radius. My kids love the space they have in the back seat and I love the storage space I have in the back. This version is a little wider and definitely boxier than the newer models, but still fun to drive. Everything on this car is top notch and has a luxury feel without being too presumptuous. The leather is nice and soft and the wood grain trim gives a nice homey feel.
Story
Even though this car is not a 4x4, it has enough power and drivability that I could take it into any of my secret fishing holes and not worry about getting stuck. I don't recommend doing it, but I knew I could always get out of a bind in this vehicle, and did MANY times.
Pros
My favorite features on this vehicle include the heated steering wheel and the heated seats. On cold mornings, these luxuries combined with the remote start are the greatest treasures of my life! I cannot say enough about the space, either. I can fit fishing poles, chairs, coolers and everything else I need to take myself and three kids to a day fishing on the beach, or to deliver a giant cake to a customer! The navigation is easy to use and wonderful when travelling to new places!
Cons
This car did not come with built in Bluetooth capabilities or a DVD player for the kids to use while driving down the road. The navigation system will play DVDs, but only while the car is in park. Honestly, these are the only issues I have had with the vehicle and they are not deal breakers.

I first noticed the Cadillac SRX while walking through a parking lot. In a sea of similar lines but different name plates, the SRX stood out. It's a bit more angular. It looks like it wants to move. The only way I can describe it is this - think about the old Speed Racer cartoons and the way the cars were drawn to indicate they were moving fast - that's how the Cadillac SRX felt to me. But I wasn't in the market for a car so I didn't think much about it. Time passed and my car was actively dying. I went to the local dealership, looked at and test drove a few vehicles, and then walked by a Cadillac SRX. I pointed. The salesperson went into the showroom to get the keys. When she opened the car door I fell in love.
Story
My dog was so used to the sound of my former vehicle that when I first drove this one home he barked and barked and didn't recognize me. The car was too quiet!
Pros
Great sight lines - too many new cars seem like they're designed to sideswipe someone. I love the heated seats, the many adjustments on them and the availability of XM Radio. It has an incredibly smooth ride and fun features like the subtle lighting on the doors at night.
Cons
Holy smokes, when something goes wrong it can be expensive to fix. I needed a $15 part for my air conditioning. The mechanic had to take off the whole dashboard assembly. The $15 part ended up costing me more than $700. And then two months later a $20 part needed to be replaced and the dashboard had to be disassembled again. Horrible, horrible experience.

We have had our Cadillac SRX for several years now and put over 100,000 miles on it. It has been very reliable, only recently needing oil changes and tires. Due to the age of the car, the dashboard has developed a foot long crack on the top side where the sun shines in.
Story
Took the car on our first road trip in it with 2 teenagers in the back. It was going to be a 6 hour drive. We found out the DVD players didn't work and actually one of the DVDs got stuck into the machine.
Pros
It is a very sturdy car and feels very safe. I like knowing that it has all the front, side and backseat airbags. The extra long sunroof is amazing but we don't open it very often. It gets too noisy when open. The interior finishing is very nice and high quality. It has held up very well even though the car has almost 200,000 miles on it now. The electric trunk hatch is nice, too. Since I'm not very tall it is sometimes hard to pull trunks closed that are very high. The seats are comfortable and the leather has held up very well. Only some dirt discoloration. There has been no c... (more)
Cons
The DVD players are located in the back of the headrests and have never worked quite right. I'm not sure if they were from the manufacturer or aftermarket, but we always had to use something else.
