This vehicle was initially chosen due to its quick depreciation of value. I bought this 2012 SRX in 2015 and only paid ~40% of it original MSRP. We initially were attracted to this vehicle because we needed more space than our previous sedans provided for longer road trips with our two dogs. The SRX provides as good amount of cargo space with the rear seats folding down. You can also utilize the roof cargo rails and install a trailer hitch (which we have done) for added cargo space. The other main reason for choosing the SRX was due to its comfort level. At 6'5", I can continuously drive this vehicle for 5+ continuous hours without feeling discomfort. The SRX is the vehicle of choice for about 90% of my families driving for these reasons. The only real dislikes that I have rega... (more)
Story
This vehicle was bought in 2015 when my wife and I relocated to Georgia from California in order to pursue a new career opportunity for me in the pharmaceutical industry. Once we moved into our new home (and gained a lot more backyard space), we adopted a second dog. Since we are used to traveling with our first dog, we found that traveling long distances with both dogs as well as all of the... (more)
Pros
As previously stated, the top benefits of this vehicle for me is the cargo storage volume as well as the comfort level for driver and passenger. In addition to those aspects, I would say that other benefits include the ability to pair and play audio from cell phones and other personal electronic devices. The rear seats lay down nearly flat creating a bed like space similar in space to a small pickup. I also enjoy being able to utilize the programmable controllers for my home garage door, personalize mirrors and seat positioning based on key fob identification, and the panoramic sunroof.... (more)
Cons
The main con that I have previously detailed about the Cadillac SRX was the comfort level of the rear seat cushions and overhead space. The back seats are too vertical and do not provide a comfortable seat for extended drives of two or more hours. In addition, anyone taller than around six foot would practically be in contact with the roof. From a reliability standpoint, the only mechanical issue that I have experience, thus far through 78,000 miles, is the driver side wheel bearing. At around 68,000 miles, the car developed an audible whirl, similar to a helicopter that coincided with... (more)

The SRX is comfortable to ride in, especially on longer trips. The seats have several adjustments that you can customize to yourself. It has ample room, but is not an extremely large vehicle. It does will in inclement weather. It adapts to road conditions well. The windshield wipers automatically adjust to the conditions well also. There is ample cargo room and storage in the SRX. You are able to pack a cooler and still have room to pack your things. Passengers in the rear seats do not feel confined, as there is plenty of room. Driving the SRX in the city can be a little difficult due to the size of the vehicle, however the back up camera and blind spot detectors are almost necessary features on a car today. The backup camera can become foggy or icy though, which can be an issue. These... (more)
Story
The best trip my family had in the SRX was when we went to Ocean Shores. The vehicle handled great on the beach and we had a great time.
Pros
The moon roof/sun roof is great when the weather is nice. The heated seats and steering wheel are added bonuses when it is cold. The defrosters (rear and front) are the best I've seen when your windshield is icy. The SRX does not take long to heat up or cool down, which is a great feature when the weather is extreme. The rear seats can fold down and have a pass through feature, which makes is easier to haul some things. The rear seats have amble room, even for adults. The leather seats are classy and you can clean them easily, especially if you have children. It is easy to clean in between... (more)
Cons
The maintenance on the car needs to be done by professionals, due to the complex system in the vehicle. This can be difficult for some. The SRX requires more maintenance than my previous vehicle, which can cost more. The system alerts the vehicle provides are great, however some of them can be a distraction when you are driving. As the driver, it is hard not to depend on the blind spot detector and back up camera too much. The SRX can be too large in some instances, especially in city driving. In the city, the parking spots and streets are narrow. It can make driving the SRX impossible in ... (more)
