This vehicle was initially chosen due to its quick depreciation of value. I bought this 2012 SRX in 2015 and only paid ~40% of it original MSRP. We initially were attracted to this vehicle because we needed more space than our previous sedans provided for longer road trips with our two dogs. The SRX provides as good amount of cargo space with the rear seats folding down. You can also utilize the roof cargo rails and install a trailer hitch (which we have done) for added cargo space. The other main reason for choosing the SRX was due to its comfort level. At 6'5", I can continuously drive this vehicle for 5+ continuous hours without feeling discomfort. The SRX is the vehicle of choice for about 90% of my families driving for these reasons. The only real dislikes that I have rega... (more)
Story
This vehicle was bought in 2015 when my wife and I relocated to Georgia from California in order to pursue a new career opportunity for me in the pharmaceutical industry. Once we moved into our new home (and gained a lot more backyard space), we adopted a second dog. Since we are used to traveling with our first dog, we found that traveling long distances with both dogs as well as all of the... (more)
Pros
As previously stated, the top benefits of this vehicle for me is the cargo storage volume as well as the comfort level for driver and passenger. In addition to those aspects, I would say that other benefits include the ability to pair and play audio from cell phones and other personal electronic devices. The rear seats lay down nearly flat creating a bed like space similar in space to a small pickup. I also enjoy being able to utilize the programmable controllers for my home garage door, personalize mirrors and seat positioning based on key fob identification, and the panoramic sunroof.... (more)
Cons
The main con that I have previously detailed about the Cadillac SRX was the comfort level of the rear seat cushions and overhead space. The back seats are too vertical and do not provide a comfortable seat for extended drives of two or more hours. In addition, anyone taller than around six foot would practically be in contact with the roof. From a reliability standpoint, the only mechanical issue that I have experience, thus far through 78,000 miles, is the driver side wheel bearing. At around 68,000 miles, the car developed an audible whirl, similar to a helicopter that coincided with... (more)

2006 Cadillac SRX - Great car to own

It is a lot larger than I would like to drive, but I have grown accustomed to it. The paint has not faded or had chips in all the years I have owned it. The inside cab is quite roomy, seats have a variety of adjustment settings. The leather seating can be hard to clean at times and even still, but overall comfortable for long drives. Heated seats are great for cold days, and the separate temperature controls for the driver and passenger are great, I can turn off the passenger side when I am alone and do not feel I am wasting energy. It supposedly "learns" your driving style, as there are different profiles on the car for each driver. There are small compartment storage in the back as well as a roomy "trunk" that is not really separate from the car, which might be a problem for some. T... (more)
Story
This car was amazingly able to drive up one of the winding, steep roads of a local mountain without overheating. With all the room in the cab, it was easy to fit a lot in for our trip.
Pros
Heated seats are great for cold days, and the separate temperature controls for the driver and passenger are a wonderful feature. There are many hooks for hangers or whatnot throughout the car and several power ports, including one in the back. Many ports for electric devices and even one in the back, if so needed. The seats are comfortable over long distance drives, with many adjustments that can be made in the seat. You can adjust what the key for your profile recognizes, such as if you want the seat to move whenever the key is inserted/removed, what you want displayed on the CD display,... (more)
Cons
The personal settings never seems to work on the profiles: It does not save my seating adjustment. One of the keys always changes to the correct profile, but the male key still requires me to set it manually to my own if I am driving. It is a pity that the original stereo does not have a Bluetooth option.

It is the perfect size SUV for a small family or someone that doesn't have kids. It is the perfect height so it is easy to get in and out of. It has lots of features and up to date technology. The engine has a lot of power and makes it easy to pass other vehicles. It rides very comfortably and handles well.
Story
My husband folded in my mirrors one day, and I saw it in the driveway and panicked, because I didn't realize that you could even do that. This was after owning the car for almost a year!
Pros
I like the size of the car, it's not to big or to small. The technology and GPS seems to be very advanced. I love the Bluetooth to my phone for music or phone calls. The back up camera is very clear and a good size. The cargo area is also a decent size. The controls on the steering wheel makes it easy to use the radio. I love the heated seats and steering wheel. The powered hatchback is a plus also.
Cons
It seems like there is quite a few blind spots in the car. Between the windshield and the car door window that makes it very hard to see cars coming because that seems to wider than other vehicles. I don't really care for how to have to navigate through the vehicle data, like oil change, and gas mileage. It doesn't seem very user friendly. The GPS was a little confusing at first also compared to other ones I have used, it almost seems like to much.
