If you are looking for a luxury vehicle without breaking the bank, then this is the vehicle for you! Like me, you can find a used Cadillac SRX for the same price (or less) than the price of a standard vehicle: while still driving that coveted Cadillac brand name and feeling prestigious! However, be prepared to pay for it in other ways. But if you're trying to ball on a budget or have limited savings to get the alternative (more well-known and popular but more expensive) Escalade, then this just might be the perfect vehicle for you.
Story
Sitting in the tail end and watching fireworks with my son. Also taking it on a vacation to Washington, D.C. and feeling like I fit in with the more upper-class area.
Pros
It is stylish and has a widely-respected brand name. You can feel good knowing that you purchased an American vehicle. It is very spacious yet gets better gas mileage than other comparable SUV's. It is useful for transporting large items and for towing. It is comfortable to drive and ride in.
Cons
It has no AUX outlet and is nearly impossible to get one without spending a small fortune on a new stereo system. Within 2 years of driving it the transmission went out, even though it had limited mileage. Since it is a luxury vehicle, getting any kind of repair work costs at least twice that of a standard vehicle. You can only use synthetic oil and premium gas, both of which are more expensive. Compared to all vehicle types on the market, it is in the worst classification of gas mileage: costing more, and leaving a larger carbon footprint. For the size of its tires, it really doesn't hand... (more)

Overall I do like my srx. The one thing I love it my ultra moonroof, because its huge and when it's open it feels like a convertible. I also picked this car because I honestly caravans ,and this seats 7 and is so sharp looking on the road. I always get compliments that I have a sporty mom car. I did dislike that I had transmission problem at 65k miles, we had to go back and forth with dealership but in the end we won and GM stood by their product. Also I had to replace more brake pads in this car than usual, I don't drive far since I'm a stay at home mom, and my husband has a Benz and puts about 60k miles on his cars and I have gone through more, which is strange to me.
Story
I would have to say every family road trip we had, we took my SRX and always had a great time the kids always had enough room and never complained.
Pros
The positive is the seats, Caddie makes such a comfortable car you almost feel like you our on your couch, We also have a benz and an Audi, my husband agrees the Caddie is so comfy. Also the space of the car, I have a lot of room for my kids and their friends without driving a huge truck.
Cons
The cons were that transmission problem I had, and now I'm up for a new car and I think I'm going back Lexus because of it. This is the only car of mine that had a transmission issue and my only American car but they do know how to make a beautiful car/truck. So now I feel funny about my truck with that issue, I still have it because as I said I only drive around time and it 60k and now its going to my daughter with 89k miles on it and it better be fine or we will be trading it in.
