1998 Chevrolet S-10 - Still running perfectly at 220,000+ miles

It's a good little truck for what it is. It's dependable and safe. It's still running well with over 220,000 miles. Great for people that want a daily-driver they can occasionally take off-road.

Story

One time my buddy went off the road in his Ford Bronco on Larch Mountain. I was able to pull him out of the ditch with this little s10!

Pros

Very little maintenance Performs well even with high mileage Highway gas mileage is much higher than expected (25-27 mpg) Strong motor Great transmission Easy to work on Can haul quite a bit Surprisingly good off-road

Cons

Poor gas mileage in city (approx. 16-17 Mpg) Gets very hot when driving on mountains Interior plastics of poor quality, break Plastic insert/interior lining on doors cracks very easily Suspension Repairs often are expensive Parts are hard to come by

2002 Chevrolet S-10 - 1St truck owner at 55

This is the first truck I have owned. I love the size of the cab as I am 5'3, and how the truck handles on the highway when against the commercial trucks. It has a jump seat for extra seating and is actually comfy! After my husband passed away this truck has seen me through moving, hauling debris, helping out others with everyday chores that once you hit 50 and are alone and.... A woman, it sure has been my bud!

Story

I live on the Columbia river and wanting some fresh blackberries I couldn't reach I knew if I stood in the truck bed I would be able to. Yup, I sunk... Clear up to the body of the truck. Amazing to us all, with a little digging and laying some wood down we where able to get the truck free!! And yes made blackberry cobbler that night!

Pros

When driving there are no blind spots. It is easy to back up.

Cons

Took me 2 years to learn how to turn off the running day lights.
