The build quality of this vehicle is great. I have used it for hauling mulch and rocks as well as moving furniture. It is just the right size. The truck now has 172,000 miles on it and currently starts up every time, sounds and runs great. When passengers ride along, they always comment on how new it still looks on the inside. Although it does have a ping or two on the body, I have had many offers for purchase should I decide to sell or trade. It still looks as sporty as when I first purchased it. I have owned foreign models that boasted longevity, but this Chevrolet has been the most reliable vehicle I have ever owned. Although it is a 6 cylinder, it is easy on the wallet when it comes to pulling up to the gas pump. A few years ago, my neighbors tree fell on the roof of the ... (more)
Story
The day I walked out of the front door and found my neighbor's tree laying across the truck.
Pros
The top positive thing about this vehicle is its longevity. I also like that it still looks new on the inside.
Cons
The dings and dents, and a little bit of rust on the bed of the truck.

My father actually purchased this vehicle in 2007 and I inherited it when he passed a few months later. He had already backed in to a garage and put only a small dent in the tailgate. I thought it should have gotten more damage considering the speed. The body is tough! The Silverado has never given me issues until we had a flash flood in 2015. The truck was pretty much submerged in muddy water for a day or so. Upon filing my insurance claim I found out I was not covered for "Flash Flooding" I was devastated. It sat in my driveway for several months. Finally I started looking at manuals online and asking certified tech's where to start repairing it. Sense then I have replaced the ECM, BCM, gas tank, wheel sensors and so many more parts. Had the ECM flashed at the dealership and till thi... (more)
Story
Using it to go camping. Went 4 wheeling to get wild without a 4 wheel drive,
Pros
Tough body, easy to work on.
Cons
Parts were easy to replace once they were located.

The dealership worked with me on getting the exact car that I wanted, color and everything. Due to the fact that I had three kids with me, I thought it would be a hassle, however everyone played with the kids while I completed paperwork. I had to come back to pick up the vehicle, however they offered to deliver it to me at no additional charge with a full tank of gas! Also, they provided free oil changes for a year, as well as other complimentary services when it was brought back to them for service. The dealership even sent a thank you package of delicious cookies after the vehicle purchase.

We started off having a bad experience, the dealership cleared my husband's truck to be released without telling us the brake lines were almost rusted away. After all his brakes failed on the highway on the way to work (thankfully he starts work at 3AM or he would have been killed) we went back to the dealership to complain. Initially we had resistance from the shop manager but we took it higher, to the boss, his father in fact and he offered to not only reimburse the cost of all our truck repairs, some $2000 but also to give us the truck back so we could use it for a trade in. The boss got his sales guy Bob to deal with us and he treated us so well. We told him what we needed and how we hadn't budgeted for a new pre-owned car. We told him we needed something with AWD to get up our dri... (more)
